| Checking under the seat I find one lousy screwdriver? What's up with that nonsense? I got a complete set of tools with my Subaru. I have odds and ends around the garage (a friend gave me an extra set he had for a Shadow 750 and I'm betting most of that stuff would fit in a pinch). I'm not an expert wrench by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd like to be able to tighten a nut if needed. Sheesh! |

| Don't forget, you also got that great blue plactic tool bag and the foam rubber pad. Honda could have done better if you ask me. DennisB |

| Yeah, I got the dollar store screwdriver as well. When I complained the dealer told me that Honda no longer supplies tool kits with their bikes because they took a survey and found that most people didn't use them. I asked if they could at least supply me with a spanner wrench so I could adjust the shocks and he told he he would see what he could do. Since a month has passed since I got the bike and I haven't heard from him I guess I got my answer. |

| churchlady53,
I'm not sure when they stopped including the weak tool kit that they used to include and replaced it with even less. Look for some Cruz Tools http://www.cruztools.com/toolkits%202007.html The EconoKit M2 is a pretty decent set for the Silverwing. |

| I have a set of cruz but it doesn't have the specific wrench to turn the shocks. I'll come up with one somewhere, thanks. |

| I'm one of the ones who knows the blue plastic case is in the bike but I never open it.... |

Look on the bright side you get to spend more money on better and more usable tools . The SWing was not really designed for roadside repair, otherwise they would have designed common sizes and tools required. I have had to buy large hex wrenches, large and extra large metric socket sets, long socket extension, two torque wrenches, Honda variator holder and I am sure there are others that I missed ... just to do the miscellaneous items I have worked on. |

| I've never had a problem adjusting the Silverwing shocks by hand. No wrench needed. |

| I was surprised about the tool kit too. I got a screwdriver and some type of wrench, just can't remember what kind of wrench. It's just good that we bought Silver Wings that never break down. :Not Worthy: |

| I like to think I can change out a bad spark plug, change out a battery, or fix a flat at the side of the road. So I carry tools....not many, but enough to do the job and get me back on the road. DennisB |

| I have the "big" tool kit and a Cruz Tool kit and my wife has an additional tool kit her parents bought for her. I've ridden a bit over 18,000 miles and my wife has a bit over 17,000 on hers. We had Reflexes before this with the same tools and the only time I've ever used tools while on the road or other wise - - Used them to transfer plates from the Reflexes to the SilverWings. - Used them to repair a Kymco People 250 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tools on a Honda to me are a bit like badges are to the bad guys in the movie "Treasure of the Sierra Madre." |

| Shadow, I'm with MikeH on the shock adjust. I just put on a mechanix glove and twist the (unloaded) shock adjuster. |

| Of all the miles and years I've been riding, I'm glad I carry some tools with me. They sure have come in handy for me and others. Yes...I also stop and ask others if they need help or tools if they look like they need a helping hand. I just love those old movies. DennisB |

| DennisB, Well of course you carried tools, most of your riding was on an older HD. Carrying tools was a necessity. Of course I'm kidding. We also stop and offer assistance to any one we see who is on the side of the road (cages included). We really can't be of too much assistance, not because of tools or lack of tools, most times parts are needed and we don't cart a parts store around. |

Unloaded and on the center stand, the shock adjuster turns easily. |
