Dennis. I don't see that you made any back rest. I don't want to deal with buying the angle iron and drilling and so forth. Any help?

Same here, I would be interested in one as well.

Hi Guys,

GIVI already makes a rear back rest for the Silverwing and that's what most people, here, install on their scooters. It is not that costly. For me to take the time too design another backrest to compete with GIVI does not make good sense to me. Sad

When he mentioned angled iron ... I was thinking driver backrest not passenger backrest.

Hi Bill,

When John talked about "drilling and so forth" I thought it was the rear back rest Question

Don't tell that guy across the pond that I made a small mistake in not explaining just precisely what I needed. He might offend me and tell me I should not wear a clean ridding coat because I might look like a wannabee motorcyclist. cheers

John,

Do a search for "UTOPIA backrest" I think that will fill your need.

johnd, you still did not say which back rest you want. If you want one for the driver and you do not want to make it yourself, spend a lot of money for the UTOPIA (a great backrest if you can afford it), or find someone that will make you one following Leroy Beals website at the link below.

http://www.leroybeal.net/motorcycles/silverwing/articles/backrest/backrest.html

I would offer to make you one if you were close to me but I have made a few of them and had to fit them to the scooter my self as I do not make them from a jig. It is vary easy to do and not much money(I had every thing needed in my garage) so it's worth a try.

The back rest I want is for the driver. I bought one a few years ago but it has the metal base across the bottom and that part has always bothered me.
If you make it, I can easily adjust it and would like to know how much you would charge Roger?
