| Just got myself a 2008 Blue Silverwing, so am still getting used to it. This is going to be my commuter bike to complement my FJR1300 which I use for touring and ride outs. The poor Wing will have to endure all the crappy wet weather and gritted winter roads that we enjoy here in the North of England. The term "enjoy" is obviously a figure of speech, how I wish I lived somewhere sunny. Anyhow this seems a really good forum so I shall be a regular visitor Paul |

| Hello Paul and welcome!
I think the Silverwing will stand up to the weather very well. Coating it in ACF50 seems one way of 'helping' it to do so. |

| Welcome Paul, you may be surprised at how robust the 'Wing' is in our salt laden UK winters!!!
As Mike says, ACF50 or the like will aid warding off the salt from either the air or roads.
Tis a good site for all things Silver Wing. |

Simply place a rag or cloth over the risky areas. |

| Thanks for the welcome guys. The bike is showing signs of corrosion around the centre and side stand area from the previous owners use, the exhaust clamp is particulary bad. After this winter I may replace all the corroded fixing bolts and also get the stands powder coated, probably the wheels as well. Also, can any UK user reccommend somewhere for parts and accessories? Thanks, Paul |
