| Good luck with the Hurricane, I hope you don't get stuck for too long. I have family up that way and they are bracing themselves.
It was a very chilly weekend here but I did get out for a scoot on Sunday. I was bundled up but the ride was very pleasant.
The forecast for next weekend is even nicer, so I am looking forward to a ride, I just need to figure out where I want to go. I feel like I need to take advantage of every opportunity now that the season is coming to an end. |

| The worst of it is supposed to hit here this evening on through the night I have not heard of it being upgraded to a category 2 yet but it supposed to be intensifying .
Nothing to do but hunker down and wait it out as best we can.
If I wanted to deal with hurricanes , I would have moved to Florida
I hope everyone else out there is staying safe and dry

| Survived 'Sandy' here in Allentown, PA. Was without commercial pwr for about 20hrs (much better than last yrs surprise snow storm. -- out 5 days). Had a generator both yrs, so I wasn't too bad off. However, a lot of trees are down in this area. But some of the Jersey coast didn't fair too well.

| I survived Sandy fairly well here in Allentown, PA. Lost power for about 20 hrs., but, had my 4K generator take care of that. Today while I was cleaning up some debris (leaves & twigs) in my yard, I noticed about an 8 ft. piece of fascia siding had come off. The piece was not damaged so I will be able to have it re-installed. Can't get out on the road with my SW trike just yet, though. |

| My first sub-zero ride of the season! We had -3C and frost here this morning. Nice and crisp, but a tad chilly on the digits! 20 miles from home to Winchester.
Doing some research on heated gloves - any ideas? |

| It was 30 degrees farenheit here this am . My only chance to ride in to work this week since another storm is coming Wednesday. Not too bad with my insulated Carhart overalls, Balaclava, and Olympia riding jacket . First time I broke out the winter gloves since March. Now 11 months with my wing and 7k miles on the clock.

| 38F the other day on the freeway on the way from Medford, OR to Grants Pass for a GWRRA breakfast (actually the remains of a disbanded GWRRA chapter). Half way there I had to turn the Gerbings jacket liner down, too hot. I first bought electrically heated gear about two years ago and wonder why it took me so long. Last year on my Goldwing it was 28F in the mountains on the way to Klamath Falls. For the first time in my motorcycling life I was actually comfy warm cruising at 65mph at that temp. Wonderful stuff. I do carry extra gear in case of electrical failure though. |

| I was driving thru eastern Quebec, Canada last night with my family on the way to my grandmothers funeral in Newfoundland, a 24 hour drive one way plus a 5 hr ferry ride. I pulled off the highway with the van to refuel at around 10 pm and the van showed -6C. While pumping the gas my knees were knocking with cold after leavin the warm van. I looked up to see a scooter driving thru the gas station parking lot. Not sure the make or model (sounded like a 2stroke). These guys must be sasquatches to ride in the cold at night like that. |

I take it the roads were dry... Why? Because of the danger of ice if the road wasn't... During the winter I regularly ride sub zero temps, wet or dry. Just more cautiously thats all!!!! With all the salt this country scatters the outside air temp has little effect on the state of the actual roads. |
