No matter whether you agree with my decision to cash out my small pension accumulated with NCR, I'm sure you'll agree that using some of it to purchase a SilverWing is a wise choice. Sometime next month, I'll get that payout and hope that the weather is good to bring it home from Colorado Springs to my home up near Fort Lupton. It's a red 2002 with about 37k on the clock and has been very well kept. It's available and at a good price ($2250) and after a look-over and a ride, I knew that I had to have. I've been riding since I was 18, started with a CB400F, and most recently with a PC800. The PC was an 89, old when I got it, and recently I was getting tired of replacing tupperware and stators, not to mention a lot of other stuff that an old bike requires, and Honda does not readily stock. All in all, I was getting tired of fixing it more than riding it. The SW seems to be the logical successor to the PC and a good commuter, as well as the occasional longer ride. Now I just have to hope that the money comes in before the snow.... Christmas present for me!

Thanks for the advice, Hi Yo. I've got a lot to learn about CVT and variators and related stuff, never having a scooter before; not to mention training my left hand that there is no clutch there. Grabbing that lever is worse than when I drive my wife's car and stomp the floor with my left foot.

Hi there, clay_in_co ! No better present than the one you bought for yourself ! (ditto with my SW ) I find the SW easy to work on. Some upperware removal for coolant flush and air filter needed. Acces to spark plugs a bit restricted, too. B.t.w. lovely avatar: you and your first 'chick'?

Yeah, I have quit smoking since then, but the picture makes me look VERY young, and the chicken likes it because it makes him look very tall.

Welcome to the site, Clay, from a Kansas boy. No better place to be for SWing information. I know you'll enjoy it! Read! Read! Read! There's a ton of data here or at least someone who's always ready to help.
