| I've been lurking for a little while until I picked up my new (new to me) 2004 Silver Swing. I've been riding two wheelers since the early 60's. my first scoot was and All State Compact. I brought it home in a bushel basket and paid $35 hard earned dollars for it. My dad said "good Lord you paid how much for that piece of junk?" I actually had it running later that evening and I ended up putting 10,000 miles on until I sold it for $150 dollars. My next cycle was a Honda dream CA-95 150cc Motorcycle. I paid $375 for it, drove it 22k miles in 10 months and sold it for $375! During my last year in high school I worked in a Honda shop doing setups on new crated Hondas. I loved that because I got to test drive them after setup. If memory serves me, I was paid $5.00 for each one I assembled. Not much by today's standards but I could assemble one in about 2 hours. Since then I've owned dirt bikes, scooters, and motorcycles, I have two Honda 50cc Metropolitians I will be selling this spring so if anyone is looking let me know, they are in showroom condition. I hope to be able to contribute here and I'm learning fast about the Swing.

| Hey Gary, I work in Franklin and I might be interested in one of your Metropolitans Any details you have like how much you'd like to get for them would be very welcome!
If you don't want to post the info in public you can PM me, but I don't think anyone here would hate seeing them or hearing any details about em.
Thanks! |

| Dougle I don't have any pictures yet but I have two, one is a 2004 in mint condition, no scratches, chips, dings or marks. No rust as it's always been inside. I originally bought it for my wife, she drove it one time and said she was afraid of it. It has less than 700 miles, a new battery was put in last spring, oil changed every 500 miles with one change at 100 miles after breakin. The color is Tennessee Orange and white. Asking $875.00 The second is a 2009, I bought it brand new from a dealer on 8th Ave back in 2011 in June. It has 2700 miles. I've always maintained it and it too is in mint condition. It's blue and white and has the Honda windsheild. KBB lists it for $1140.00 but I want at least $1350. The two have the same engines in them and they do require a license tag. If you would like to come take a look let me know.

| I'd love to have a look at them, we should set something up when the weather is nice.
I thought in Tennessee you didn't have to have a license tag for 50cc vehicles? I haven't looked into it that closely since I only have larger scooters right now, but that's one of the reasons I was interested in a 50cc scooter in the first place. Is there a particular reason why these require a tag?
Thanks,
Doug |

| Yes Doug, there are two different models of the Honda 50cc scooter. One is limited to a top speed of 30 MPH. They do this by detuning the engine and putting a restrictor plate in the intake. The REV limiter is also setup so you can't exceed 30. The other model, (the two I have) produce a little more horsepower and can top out around 42 MPH. Even the one's I have have a REV limiter to protect the engine. The REV limiter is set at 9K I believe. If you would like to come ckeck them out just shoot me a PM.
