| Brand : Yuasa Type : YTZ12S
It is the origynal type for the Silverwing. I think the best , but also the most expensif.
Here in Europe about 150 Euro.( 200 Dollar)

| Watch out for Cheap AGM Sealed alternatives. They leak when they lay on their sides! Ive had 2 replaced. The distributor said that the charge rate was too high and the are NOT to be used on their sides. Now I use a cheap 9 AH ordinary battery and built a frame for it so it sits upright. Only $Aus 45. I can use 4 of these to 1 "Honda" supplied battery.

This is not only a great battery with gobs of power (18Ah), but extremely light too. Its especially important if you leave your bike to sit for long periods of time, or go to bike nights and leave bling-lights on, or if you have an alarm which can draw power also.

| Shorai Battery (weighs only 2.2 lbs, with 270 Cold Cranking Amps): Check out this review: http://www.cycleworld.com/2012/03/30/cw-evaluation-shorai-lithium-iron-extreme-rate-lfx-battery/ Quote from the review: " Chilly SoCal mornings with temps in the 30s slow its cranking not a bit; neither does throwing the battery in the freezer overnight." |

| I don't know how lithium batteries are working out for bikes but I used Odyssey batteries in my motorcycles and some other equipment for years. Never had a problem and they hold up very well. On the older Goldwings it was nice to get rid of that vent tube that always managed to drip on the chrome pipes and mess them up. I wouldn't use a standard lead acid battery in anything these days. |

| Does anyone have long term experience with the Shorai Lithium battery ? I'll probably be looking at a new battery for my wing in the next year and wonder how these hold up compared to the stock Yuasa |
