| Just a little side project I decided to do a few weeks ago. I think it turned out pretty nice. |

| I used a 3M Scotchprint 3D Carbon Fiber Vinyl. Part number 1080-CF12. ($15.00 for a 12" x 5 foot roll) You can heat mold it, but at room temp it is plenty pliable. It took about 1 1/2-2 hours to do. It was a cheap and fun project. I mainly did it because there were a couple of scratches on the cover that I did not care for. I am thinking about doing the glove box covers next.

| I have the 2006 SWing and I might just try to do the entire dash area. I am going to get this stuff and see what I can do with it. I have the Blue bike with the blue dash. Should look sharp with the CF finish. |

| For anyone that has a LeoVince Exhaust on their wing, they produce a carbon fiber heat shield for it.

| I bought it on Ebay from AVS (Auto Vinyl Solutions). Here is a link for the same thing. Right now it is $17.05 plus $1.99 shipping. Great Company to deal with.

Aloha my fellow rider. I just placed an order. Was it difficult to do the wrap around the bolt holes? This was the most time consuming part. The flat and edge sections are smooth sailing. You will be able to push the vinyl into the bolt holes. Cut a hole in the center and you can stretch it a little bit. It will not cover everything. I actually made 2 donut shaped pieces, matched up the pattern and covered up the little area that was left. |

| Nice job Tracab! Looks nice. Life is funny, if the swing came stock with the carbon fiber muffler cover and someone did one in chrome everyone would be in awe and lining up to get the chrome one ordered. I guess we all like to be different. That being said you got my mind turning as to what i can cover with that CF. |

| i bought the Carbon Fiber Vinyl wrap film in 60. in from Metro Restyling and it only cost a total of $ 15.09. I finished the job in about 1/2 hr. but I am sure the finish could have been even better if it had been attached to the bike giving it more support. Going for a 140 mile ride and hope it holds up the heat from the muffler. Next I am going to do the mirrors. |

| I got three rolls 12"x50" for $5.99 per roll on ebay. I covered the exhaust cover, mirrors and the underskirt with it. I got a pic of half the skirt in my album. Was gonna put pics on a post here but my laptop crashed so i gotta wait till its repaired. The CF projects were fun but time consuming. The complex curves of the underskirt were a challenge to say the least. The secret to installing the CF is to have a hair dryer to heat the product while carefully and SLOWLY pressing and molding it to the piece. However some cutting will be needed to get it to mold around some curves to eliminate wrinkles. I was happy with the final results. |

| My ride was FANTASTIC today. Great weather and as always fun to be with your riding buddies. 195 miles and the Carbon Fiber held up like when I first put it on in the morning. GREAT! And for the price I paid, I will be able to do maybe, three more exhaust covers and learn along the way on how to make the application perfect. I would highly recommend the product to anyone wanting to renew their old exhaust cover. |

| I am glad that you guys (johnd, hotwings) had a good time with the project. It is still snowing here in MN so I have only ridden about 100 miles this year.
hotwings,
The curves are a bitch to be sure. That is one of the reasons why I will not do the dash or anything else with complex curves or, recesses. I am happy with my glove boxes and exhaust cover. |

A challenge is good every now and then. I even did the end cap of the exhaust cover, the piece with all the holes. To accomplish this some light to moderate swearing will be required! |

Looks great!! Nice work. I actually removed the guard bar from my muffler. Think it looks a little cleaner without it. Did you wrap the mirrors all the way around to the glass then trim? Love the temp gauge you did as well. Not a bad idea. |

| Nice job. I was going to do my mirrors yesterday but was because of the difficulty of the round surface and the creases it would leave on the surface, but I see you were able to do a great job with only very minor blemishes or is that just my eyes. I also like the lower part. Did you have the bike up on a lift when you were doing the work or work laying down? |

I also like the lower part. Did you have the bike up on a lift when you were doing the work or work laying down? I removed the underskirts- a 2 minute job. Just be bit careful there are a couple tabs on the front. The mirrors are relatively easy to do with the assistance of a hairdryer. Dont attempt to do any CF without using a little heat from a hairdryer. When i did the underskirts i clamped the hairdryer in my work bench vise when i was doing around the edges. After heating, the CF can stretch and mold very easily. |
