| Hi all,
I just moved t UK with my SW400 that I bought in Italy in 2007. In order to get it registered I need to change the speedometer from kph to mph.
Does anybody knows if the speedo of the SW600 would fit my SW400?
Thxs

| Why do you have to do that, they legally import Italian scooters like Piaggio for sale in the UK with KPH speedometers. The UK model Silver Wing speedos are in MPH with a smaller different coloured KPH ring below, haven't you got the large KPH with a smaller MPH below on your 400. You are aware that the Silver Wing 400 models were never sold in the UK.
I've got a sticker on my screen that shows me the main Euro speed limits in KPH with it converted to MPH, they're widely available on the net.

| Thank you Mekdrew!
In order to register the scooter I need to import it. To import I need to speedo in miles + headlight according to UK rules (left driving). Some motorbikes have the speedo both in miles and km. Not the case of the SW400.
They also specify that stikers are not accepted.
As I know that the 400 was never sold in the UK I need to understand if the part of the 600 is the same. It looks pretty much the same but you never know.
I found in ebay a used part that I could get from the US (in miles) but I would like to know if it is suitabl before buying!

| Unfortunately there is no known way to convert your KPH ECM board to read out in MPH. We here have gone through that discussion in the past. The US version should fit your SW400.
It is a shame that the bureaucracy is so pin headed that it forces you to such a needless expense.
That said, I may have a direct copy of a MPH face plate I can send to you which you could fit over your KPH face plate. It would no doubt pass an inspection --depending on how good of a job you would do.
PM me with your mail address. I'll see if I can locate that faceplate copy.

| I have an imported FJS400 with mph stickers on the dials. It was imported like this and hasn't caused any issues since. |
