| Hello folks, big thanks to all the inputs and knowledge base in the forum. Learn a lot from people here. From Singapore and ride a Sw400 JDM aka (Japanese spec?). First time on a scooter in my 25 years biking. Never expect the sw to be so so so good and comfortable. Most of us here rides the 400cc variant, the 600cc are so rare there are only a handful. I especially enjoyed reading the accessories discussion and pictorial guide to maintenance; and some of the stuffs like DennisB arm-rest Rocks!...something we will never get in Singapore. |

| Swinger,
Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy it. Maybe you can post some pics sometime of your country since I'm sure we would all like to see them. I hear the Swing 400 is a really nice bike too. We don't get those here in the states but I hear they are very nice 400's. If you have any questions please ask and hope you will be an active member here. |

| Greeting Folks... Busy exploring my scoot...manage to break off the slim tupperware just at the edge of the windshield. JeffR_, sure thing but most of us just ride up to neighboring country (Malaysia & Thailand) because Singapore is just too small. Heres a shot of my scoot, took her on a 500km return trip last week. The Sw400 JDM specs comes with factory hazard light and T mode switch |

| Welcome! I'm new this week, too! I had a Yamaha Majesty 400 before I got my SilverWing, and if we could get the 400cc here, I definitely would have! I would like the lighter weight, and the improved gas mileage!
That said, I love my Silverwing, and it has been so much fun. The large scooters are not at all common here in Northeastern Virginia, so I get a lot of questions about it. I often say I'm going to get a t-shirt that says the following:
It's a Honda Silverwing Scooter It gets 45-50 mpg It will go over 100 mph It's like a mototrcycle, but more fun! |

| @Swinger: You got some gadgets on there, care to answer some questions: 1. What is the switch near the brake reservoir do? 2. What is in that box between the handle bars? |

Thank you and welcome too Im not too optimistic about my scoot fuel consumption though. I have so far empty 4 full tank and I got only about 19-20km per litre And I did a conversion of your 45miles/Gallon...we had about the same consumpton except mine is a 400cc The JDM specs that Im riding are known to be more gas hungry compared to the euro version; I read most of them can do 25 km/ litre. Also, the 4 full tank that I empty are done at near top speed with pillion and full luggage. Will do more causal riding this week to see if its indeed that thirsty. |

| (1) That is the T-Switch which i read is suppose to translate to a more aggressive drive mode (not sure whether you can call it overdrive mode like auto cars.) Its suppose to give more power when overtaking and climbing hills. The JDM has more aggressive fuel mapping than the other model but so far I have not felt any difference when I turn it on (2) That is a electronic road pricing device. It is fitted to all vehicles in Singapore. When you travel to Business District or choose to use popular highway in congested hours, some $$ wil be deducted from the cash card in the device. In short, its a Tax machine. - RArch wrote:
