| Looks like you will be parking next to King Alfred. I've got the OK from the social secretary, so i will endeavour to be there for 1230.
... unless you want to meet at McDonalds on the roundabout at Petersfield ...

| If you like "twisties" may I suggest a small diversion just west of Brookwood?
The B3012 Grapemouth Road towards Frimley Green, or take the left fork halfway along on Mytchett Place Road towards Mytchett.
They're minor roads, but well surfaced (when I last rode them) and much favoured by my advance riding instructor. They have a 40mph limit, but the aim was always to maintain a steady 40 all the way.
You then just have to turn left onto the B3411 to meet your original route at Ash.
Whatever your route, have a good ride.

| Hello Gents. Flying BA from San Francisco to London tomorrow, arriving Saturday morning. Going to Brands for the classic motorbike races on the day (Sunday) you're going on what looks like a nice ride. I see you're going right through McLaren country in Woking. I'm so envious of all the great motorsport you have within daily rides! Have fun! Greg |

Pity we didn't know in advance we could have joined you at Brands Best not mention one of our last trips which was to www.brooklandsmuseum.com As for Woking, I was there for the victory parade through the streets back in 2000 when Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard drove for McLaren-Mercedes. |

| Due to the bad weather this ride looks like it will cancelled No point putting ourselves in unnecessary risk but we will make the final decision in the morning. |

| Just rain at my end, so I will be guided by your decision. I looks like the snow is in London and all points north. |

| I don't think the temperature was ever was above 0 deg C and we had a little flutter of snow on the way! I too enjoyed our ride and our chat while warming over a roast dinner in Winchester, hope to do similar again soon |

| It would be cold and noisy riding behind those Honda stock screens today, and is that an Aerostich Darien jacket on the left? |

| As a recent convert from no-screen, stock screen is quite a pleasant and comfortable ride. My only cold bits were slightly cool feet. Don't think an AF 214 would have much effect that far down. Sorry you couldn't see me modelling the sexy Respro fluorescent vest. |

| Make sure you fit the addition bracket type thingies. Be careful when you drill the plastic not to drill out the threads in the retaining nuts. Use the lightest of pressure and keep one hand pulling back on the drill so that as soon as you feel the drill has drilled through the plastic you can stop the downward pressure immediately.
Fit screen and take it for a test ride.
Cheers, |

| It arrived this afternoon and is now fitted. Will take it for a test run in the morning.
Drilled the extra holes with a small hand drill, the plastic is soft enough to get through easily. Found the threads behind and all fitted ok.
Let's hope it's as good as you say it is! |

| Used one of those 'go anywhere' drills, good idea.
I think you'll be very happy with the result.
Cheers, |

| Managed to squeeze in a short run between the bosses demands. Yup, pleased with the result, turbulence is reduced. Once above 50mph felt like I was in a pocket of still air with a slight 'push' in my back.
I'm looking forward to a longer run to work on Monday, and RArch's Bovingdon trip on 28th. Give me chance to find out more about how it behaves. |
