Hello group.
Just joined your group today. Am from Minnesota. Am considering a new 2012 Silverwing, hold over, but need to make up my mind very quickly. Last big bike I had was a Honda VTX 1300. Like Hondas. Have an old 90 trail that sits around. Am not young anymore, 52.
Anyway been looking at Goldwing 1500, Honda ST1300, and also some older goldwings, a trike, even an old silverwing. Don't plan to do a lot of riding, but would like to have a comfortable ride. Am on a gravel road for about a mile and a half, then pavemen.
? 1. .How is the ride with smaller wheels than big bikes.
? 2. Do people tease you for riding a scooter? am a big boy, so should be able to handle it.
Thanks guys. Lyle

Welcome, the Swing can be a little hard to handle on loose gravel, you need to take your time. Very good on hard gravel road.

Lyle,

Welcome to the forum. Scooters don't do well as a whole on gravel roads unless it is a tightly packed gravel road. It will do ok but not quite as good as a motorcycle.

Sometimes people say things about scooters but I don't really let it bother me. And the Swing will do 104 mph on my gps so when you get them on the interstate they change their attitude pretty quick, unless they have a bike that does 140.

Thanks guys.
The more I research the Silverwing the more I am interested. Only "Scooter" I have riden is my brothers Yamaha Zuma 50cc (I think that's correct). Was fun, as most people who have driven them agree.
And the miles you guys put on them says a lot, you wouldn't be putting on 34,000 miles if you didn't want to. Lyle.
