| It's April 24! We just do not get snow this late in the year in Southeast Kansas! Yet... That's snow on the woodpile, and some snow can be seen in the grass also. ! A closeup. Yes, it's really snow. It's not about how much snow fell. It's the fact that snow fell at all - and stuck. This ain't Minnesota! For you folks in Great Britain & Europe, My corner of Kansas is 37.45 deg N. which is about equal in Latitude to the Southern part of Spain. |

| Hell, Gyro, that's not snow. That is what we call "frost", snow comes in FEET.
Neighboring community, Boulder, has had 47.5 inches of snow this month. With any luck, it is over for this year.
Southern Spain can thank the Gulf Stream for being as mild as it is.

:flower: Phtttfpt! You forgot to mention that you are a mile above sea level while my little corner of Kansas is barely 950 feet above sea level! |

| 950 feet above sea level, I would probably get nose bleeds as that high altitude. |

| I lived in Spain for a while & believe me, its a myth that the sun shines all the time - in winter they get snow in bucketloads!!! Also, the Gulf Stream has no effect on southern Spain as this area's in the Mediterranean but thankfully it keeps us from freezing too much here in the UK (& yes, France & Belgium too) - one of the more useful exports from the western side of the pond! |

However, a new EU directive has categorised the Gulf Stream as "favouritism". It requires the Gulf Stream to move further north, bypassing all of Europe (inc the UK), thus bringing weather equality to all!! It was tested over the past 12 months and will come into permanent force this "summer"! Brrrrrrrr! |

Yes it does, press the zero key 0 and leave your finger there and ° will appear on the screen above it. Drag your finger onto it and it will print. Do the same with a lower or upper case A and you can have ã å ā à á â ä æ, or À Á Â Æ Å etc, and it's the same with E, I, O, U, W, S, L, C, and maybe one or two more. Press S and this ß appears, it's called an umlaut, it's used in Germany instead of a double S, so street or strasse in German is spelled straße. Have a play with your keyboard and see what you can find, some of those accents above the vowels might be handy for chatting to your French speaking countrymen. |

| If you are using a standard computer keyboard (QWERTY) then hold down the 'Alt' and press '1', then '6' and '7' on the numeric keypad in that order. The 'º' is part of the extended ascii set of characters. Have a play in Notepad and see what you get. Meldrew - We Brits can still show Johnny Foreigner a thing or two. Cheers, |
