I took the SWing out for a ride today. About 147 mile loop from Wickenburg to Tonapah, AZ, to Aguila, AZ then to Congress, AZ for lunch and back home.
The ride temps started out in the low 70's then finished in the low 100's (F not C). Very little wind and only 12 miles on the freeway then the majority was two-lane blacktop, with a small amount of dirt as well.
This was take outside of Wickenburg about 10 miles. Old technology and new technology? Pretty cool anyhow.
The sign says Hot Springs out near Tonapah? No idea will have to investigate further!!! Not much out near Tonapah...
There is a newer post office in Tonapah so I can only conclude that this must have been the po used many years ago. Note the flag pole?
The only hotel/motel I saw in Tonapah... And it appears to have been there a while
The above is an abandoned mine a few miles outside of Aguila, AZ. I thought of hiking up to it but the temps were up in mid 90's so I passed. Another day perhaps.
Nice ride but next time I need to start earlier so as to miss some of the noon temperatures.
