Free bike parking at Heathrow

Morning all. I had to get a plane from Heathrow for a short notice business trip at the weekend and thought I'd check out the free bike parking I'd read about. It's true! You can park your bike for nothing for up to a month in a covered area at each of the terminals. I used the one underneath Car Park 1A that serves T1 and 3. It's a bit of a faff to find and I nearly melted in the heat on Sunday waiting for all the lights to change, but it's worth it. I had everything I needed for the trip in the top box and under the seat and it was a 5 minute walk to the terminal. I left the bike for 2 days and it was fine on my return. There were lots of other bikes there with a variety of kit strapped or chained to them. If you really need it, there are bars to secure the bike to. All in all, a good experience and one I'll repeat when heading through the airport again. If anyone wants more details, get in touch! JR
