| Sorry took awhile to figure out how to reply. Thank you all for the warm greetings. Though this is my son's first ride, and my wife rides a Burgman, I ride a BMW K1200LT. Been riding since before 1977 (licenced then). I'm retired LEO after 28 hrs with 11yrs as a motor and motor training ofc. Spent most of the time riding the BMW RTP's. 28 yrs as an operator takes its toll.
Rule here is, I clean and maintain, I ride when I WANT! and when they let me, I ask of course. |

| Would love to hear your opinions on Burgman vs Silverwing once you feel experienced with the wing. Also, how do you feel the two scoots compare to the BMW? Do we give up a lot for the comfort and convenience of a scooter? |

| Philip you are good, RTP is short for BMW R1200RT-P, work motor. Comparo of Burgie, Swing and BMW C600? First Maxi-scoots are in a class of their own, as you all are aware. The comfort and convinence beats all but the biggest, bestest and most expensive conventional motors and even then as always personal pref come to play.
Our Burgie is the 650 Executive with all the bells and whistles. Most of those are not used very often but nice to have, those include, retracting mirrors, elec windshield, manual shift, power mode and some others. The ride is smooth with the larger wheels and tires, 15" and 14". This is where the Burgie edges others for a nice ride. More room for 2 up than the largest of Touring motors. There is more maintainence issues than the Swing, Honda made maintainence easier (so far) Burgie is heavier and wider than the Swing, which effects slow, tight handling, but is still exceptional.
Swing has excellent power/accelleration with good leg room, but not as good as the Burgie. The scoot we aquired came with a Corbin simi-custom seat which make a monster difference, very comfy, Burgie seat sucks, as do most stock seats on any motor. Tires/wheels are smaller, body is narrower but slow/tight handling is excellent. CVT engagment is at higher RPM than the Burgie, but is sounds like that can be adjusted. MPG is about the same, 45 mpg all day with Burgie, dont know yet what the Swing gets. The Swings exhaust note is meatier!
BMW C600, I'm a BMW guy. That said, if you gave me one, who i'm I not to take it. Would I spend $10,000 on one, NWIH. My impressions are, the seating position and seat are bad. The styling needs to grow on you (not for everyone). Storage falls short, especially on the Sport. The biggest no sale for me, it sounds like a Briggs and Stratton go-cart, loud and rough with a much to high RPM engagment of the tranny. Bavarian Money Works needs to do alot of work on these rides before I'm sold, but I win because the PO of my Swing, traded it in for a C600:cheers: |

Did the full 28 hours, did you do it in one stint or over several days? Welcome to the forum from over the pond. Cheers, |
