| Good evening, well I've only gone and done it. just got a silver 2001 with factory topbox and heated grips. Controller in right hand cubby hole..neat. It's done 4,000 miles and can only be described as a minter.
I'm only 5'8"" and the screen doesn't do it's job. Lower my head by 2 inches and it's quiet but I don't want to look thru the screen. Seen stuff on MRA so will treat myself to one of those unless you can advise if givi airflow is better.
So far 46mpg motorway cruising.
Taking a bit of time to get used to the handling but getting there. Previous bikes have been CB250RS, VT500, SZR660 and finally TDM850 Needed to lower C of G when moving bike around and improve comfort, plus weather protection so Silverwing it was.
Looking forward to reviewing the site for loads of good stuff. |

| You might give some consideration to a Laminar Lip which attaches to your present windscreen. Of course the Lip itself won't give you the hand protection of a Givi. If you need that you'll have to opt for the Laminar Ears as well. http://www.laminarlip.com/silverwing.php
The Laminar Lip is attached to your present screen with heavy duty 3M velcro tabs. Some here and on other forums have cut out their own laminar lip (and laminar ears) using an older, scrapped windscreen or Plexiglass (Perspex). If you intend to do that you just have to insure that you get a good bow in the lip so that there will be a proper laminar air flow.
Google laminar windscreen or laminar air flow. You'll find plenty of DIY info.

| Thanks for the warm welcome.
Off to work now but will definitely read up on the laminar lip before making my decision. |

| Taking it easy also... surprised to see how much power it had. I really want to take of and go.. not use to that yet. Was a co-rider, and wanted to step up... the big thing that sold me on the SWing was the auto. Passed my BRC class so got my license.. I just don't feel road worthy yet. |

| I will also suggest the Laminar Lip for the original poster. I use a small universal and it works well.
Congrats on the new scoot. Keep us posted on your experiences. |
