| I was wondering how often does everyone change their oil? I know what the manual says but that is going by using the cheap stuff. I use full synthetic down here in the hot and humid Florida weather and I am looking for feedback from anyone that lives in a warm climate and uses their scoot daily. I put about 300-400 miles a week on my bike.
Thanks, |

| Like you I use the best synthetic. I put 60,000+ miles on my Goldwing. Just traded it in on my 2012 S-wing. G wing still ran great & never use a drop of oil. I changed oil every spring. After a couple oil changes on the Swing I'll do the same. I know a few will disagree. It works for me. harley |

| I believe the book says 7K between changes after break-in. I prefer 3K or so and I don't use synthetic. Good quality dino oil and new filter. My scoot gets mostly highway miles so that is my 2 cents. |

| The book does say 7000, with todays engineered oils that mileage is no problem at all, If you use a good synthitic, you can easily go to 10,000 using a good filter, not a cheap one. Just be sure to check the oil level often. IMO 3000 is very old school and not called for anymore, again IMO |

| 10,000 miles - change full synthetic + filter - front tire - gear oil - check coolant
3000 miles - clean air filter - check/adjust gap spark plug
I am 30,000 miles on 1st belt (lucky) I think the 145/70/13 rear tire has something to do with that. But I am changing because the age of the belt '06. Me crazy but not stupid.
P.S. I didn't know that brake fluid "sucks" in water through condense on the lines and it becomes inefficient with time.

| Generally change my oil/filter twice a year - midseason and just before storage using JASO dino motorcycle oil 10W-40 and hi-flo filters - that works out to between 3 - 4k miles on my SW [have another scoot which I ride about the same miles]. Also, change the drive oil each season just to make sure it is clean - I had an earlier issue where the recommended Honda oil came out looking separated as an oil/clear mix. After a few quick changes with Shell Rotella everything has been fine, but I keep checking more often than the manual recommends. So far there has been no oil usage of leaks.

| I ran my last dino change to nearly 6K. Oil still looked great, I used a Honda OEM filter. Just changed to a full synthetic so we shall see!
RickV funny you should make that comment about your final drive oil... Mine came out the same way, kinda gray/ clear and cruddy at 3K or so. And Honda says change every two years? Think mine will get changed once a year too. |
