Just about to trade in my BMW K1200lt for a 2009 SW.
I have arthritis in my hands and I am looking forward to having a bike which is automatic.
Once I have it I will report back my first impressions.

Just be aware that the brakes on the Swing are operated with both hands. I am currently doing carpal tunnel therapy on both hands. Unable to ride.

Thank you to all that responded to my first post.
I am having a little trouble navigating around the site and this is my second attempt at posting a reply.
I have now taken delivery of my 2009 Silver Wing which has only 700 miles on the clock.
The previous lady owner found it to heavy for her.
It is 141kg lighter than my BMW LT1200.
I had a delightful ride home and it was great not to have to declutch and change gear manually.
I am lucky that the arthritis in my hands and feet is not to bad and I have no problem using the brakes.
I am looking forward to enjoying some more riding.

Welcome to the site. Good info about the Silverwing, and owner riders are the best informed people you can talk to.
On a side note, I used to frequent the Epsom area ( Sussex?) quite a bit during the 70's. Had friends who were in nurse training at the hospital there.

Epsom - Surrey.

Nice place but a bit busy these days. It's where the famous race-course is, venue for the Epsom Derby.

Sussex is joined to Surrey on its northern edge; its southern border is the English Channel.Smile

Welcome from the wet & dreary south coast.

As an aside, last year, my wife and I visited both counties, which are SE of Petersburg, Virginia.  Sussex county is inland and borders Surry county whose eastern edge is the James River (Surry is also the name of the county town), and both are named after their respective English counties. Really quite surreal for an English couple visiting our colony - God bless King George...!  Laughing :lol!:

Welcome to the site, I too have arthritis in my hands, with a throttle lock you will be able to enjoy riding that S/W all day. Ride Safe.
