The 3rd day was the charm. The weather was perfect and what a gorgeous day it was, I'm ready to ride.
I headed east on I-84 to Biggs junction then north to Maryhill, home to the Stonehenge. It was built by Sam Hill and he dedicated it to WWI vets ( http://www.legendsofamerica.com/WA-Stonehenge.html )What a great view of the Columbia River and in the distance you can see the top of Mt. Hood, my next stop.
I ride back to Hood River where I can catch US35 the 1/3 part of the Mt. Hood Loop.
My next stop is Crater Lake and after that Mt. Shasta. My total miles for this day is 683 and 1609 miles for the whole trip. 30 gal of gas for $93.59 and an average of 53.63 mpg.
