| Hi, here I am to introduce myself. I'm the proud owner of a 2007 vintage Silverwing.
I'm an ex-pat living in Bosnia. I found the silverwing on sale through a dealer on the internet, called him on skype and it sounded a good offer. So, a week later I flew to London, test rode the bike, bought some bike gear and that night I was in Dover. Three days, 1200 miles and an adventure to tell later I am in Bosnia Herzegovina. I cannot believe how trusting I was, but the bike traveled all that way without any problems.
The bike is being imported now and (maybe I should have researched this before) my nearest Honda service stealer is around 100 miles away. I have called them numerous times over two weeks, the phone has been picked up once by someone who asked me to call back in 10 minutes - which I did, but it wasn't answered - of course! This is typical for the region!
So, I guess I'm servicing her myself. Now I'm going to scour the site and find all the hints and tips I can! |

| Hello Micky,
Welcome Aboard. The Silverwing is easy to maintain and a very reliable bike. Get yourself a shop manual if you don't already have one. A lot of great people on this forum with much knowledge on this wonderful scooter.
Again...Welcome. |

| Micky, Welcome to the site and that is one nice ride after buying a bike. Congrats on your new Swing too. You should look around this section of the forum and just do your own maintenance: https://www.silverwing600.com/f21-pictorials-maintenanceThere's plenty of help on the site if you have any questions. Again, welcome. |

An ex-pat of where? Thanks for all the warm greetings! I am from Brackley, UK and moved here 7 years ago. I have been looking around and can see there is loads of information here. (thanks JeffR for the link to the maint pictorals - I like pictures!). My first tasks are to get the rear wheel off so that the tyre can be changed, and to investigate a "squeek" that (sometimes) seems to come from the final drive when I accelerate from a standing start. I have changed that drive oil already which I suspect is the first time it has been done . A bit late at 11,000 miles, but better late than never. I'm looking forward to interacting with you all. ------------------ Now, to investigate how to set-up a signature...! |

| Hi Micky,
Whereabouts are you in BiH? I'm also British and am planning on moving to Sarajevo, but not for a few years. Would be nice to hear of your experience, or if you have a blog. I'm aware of a yamaha garage in Sarajevo, but where is the 100-mile-away Honda garage you speak of?
Cheers Paul |

| Welcome to the forum and good luck with your new scoot! As to the final drive oil; now that you have found out how easy it is to change, a lot of us change every other oil change. |

| Welcome, I am sure you will find whatever you need to service your SWing, most of the folks are friendly and helpful. You surely did take a leap of faith buying your SWing sight unseen then taking it on a 1200 mile journey, good job! As others have said I would recommend you get the shop manual ASAP, do some searching on the web to find it cheap, I bought mine on EBay if memory serves me correctly. Again, welcome to the forum. Cheers! Gary |

| Great place to hang out. Lots of good info ( first-hand) from owner-riders who take the time to get to know their ride very well. There are all levels of experience and a few experts who have seen it all ( of the Silverwing) and can help you out of a tight spot or puzzle. |

Cheers Paul Hi Paul I am near Mostar, a couple of hours south of Sarajevo. The nearest Honda service centre for me is in Split, Croatia. I have never actually been there, he is all but impossible to get hold of and the address given looks like an old block of flats on google street view ! I don't have an inspired feeling of confidence with them I'll P.M. you with my details and maybe we can meet for a coffee when you come out here! All the best, Mick |

| Hi Mick,
Thanks for the message, and apologies for the delayed reply. For some reason, the system isn't allowing me to message you back, hence posting here.
Excellent organisation you work for, and really nice to live close to Kravica falls!
I don't have an SWing, but Googling Bosnia and motorbikes/scooters led me to your post here.
It's going to be a while before I move out to BiH, longer than I was hoping owing to the impossibility of getting a mortgage out there.
I'll try to sort out my messaging, so I can send you a PM.
Cheers Paul |
