Quick Mountain Run today...

...Decided to do a quick run in the mountains today...below snowline, of course...State Route 88 to Mt Aukum and Omo Ranch Road in south El Dorado County, California.

88 was OK, but earlier this year, there was snow in the lower elevations. We don't do much road salting here, but we do sand the roads. This time of year, you really have to watch that, because they become slicker than snot on a doorknob and if you're not paying attention and taking care not to overcook the turns, you could learn to fly.

Not a bad ride...layered up and not too cold after about 11:00 AM or so...

   Nice report Jinglebob. Thanks for taking us along.    I too did a short ride yesterday. Just errands and stuff, but it was 68ºF and sunshine. I had to get out and enjoy it. 32ºF and wind is howling today. Good day for NFL playoffs. Green Bay folks would probably welcome my "cold" day.
