We have been having a mini heat here - +40C today and I was wondering what a "normal" indication on the Temp.guage might be? Out riding early this a.m. the lower three segments of the gauge were showing and at traffic lights the cooling fan was on . It never rose above this level .

Pretty normal. If you are worried, have a look at an engine watchdog. OEM stuff is just that and innacurate to boot. I run one in my Delica as I usually tow a campervan. Very accurate.

Google "thermomart." USA company.. sells direct.
This shows temp incements in 0.1 degree C easy to mount and can be set with an alarm set to a predermined upper limit temperature. just add a buzzer/horn.

3 bars on the gauge is normal.    -+ 40ºC (104ºF) in the early A.M. is not, unless you're on a beer run.     sunny    drunken    sunny

HI Yo, we sent it over from WA to SA after it cooled and tempered for a bit.

Thanks for the replies fellas .It seems that all is well with the cooling system. Kurt -I am not currently in Ulysses but was when I lived in Darwin. I will have a look at that temp.guage you mentioned .
