| Hi All, I’m introducing a new type of GPS/Cell phone mount. What’s new with this mount is it uses a bicycle and motorcycle handle bar mount and places your GPS/Cell phone center, between your handle bars in an ideal location for viewing. Mounting round bar is ¾” (19mm) diameter and comes with my engineered aluminum spacers and stainless steel screws and washers. This custom mount is made of welded 1/8” thick carbon steel and is generously coated with baked on black epoxy enamel for a durable, long lasting finish. I went to Geeks.Com and purchased a TomTom One and then went to eBay and bought a $4.99 USD bicycle handle mount for it. It works great and has a quick release on the back. This product came from China and the shipping was $7.00 USD. You will need to get your own bicycle GPS/Cell Phone handle bar mount. Price is $42.00 USD and shipping in U.S.A. $6.00 USD and International shipping is $13.00 USD. If you are interested in one, please send me a PM through this forum or my email : dennisberney@cox.net and I will send you the ordering information. Thank you for your interest in this product, DennisB

| Dennis,
Do you have a photo of this mount installed on a Silverwing? It would be helpful to see it. Thanks.

| @DennisB
Do you think that this mount would fit your kit, or would this one be better?
My wife has a TomTom Go 720 and I see little point in buying another one just for me. |

| Hi Alan, Here's a GPS holder on eBay that would work with your TomTom Go 720 and my Custom Silverwing GPS mount. http://cgi.ebay.com/Bike-Motorcycle-Mount-TomTom-GO-720-730-920-530-930-630_W0QQitemZ270445106017QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ef7c8d361&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 DennisB |

Thanks, I've found the same one on eBay UK, which'll be cheaper on the old postage! Incoming PM with an order ... and thanks. |

| DennisB's mount looks great. The only improvement I could think of would be to make the offset of the mounting bar a little further aft. That way the GPS would be less likely to block the view of the warning lights. I also think mounting the GPS is a good idea from a safety standpoint. I made a mount on my Goldwing so that the GPS sits on the centerline of the bike just behind the handlebars. The main reason I think this is a safer mount is that your bike tends to go where your eyes point. If you look too long at a handlebar mounted object it's very likely your bike will tend toward that direction. If you can't mount the GPS on center for some reason it would be safer to mount it to the right side to reduce the possibility the bike might veer into oncoming traffic if the rider got too busy with the GPS. |

...except in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, lots of African countries and other now-independent colonies! |

| Hi Alan,
Would you like the GPS mounting arm to be a little closer to you...say 25 to 50mm.

Dennis Thanks but I think it'll be fine as illustrated. I can read the clocks well enough and the satnav screen is very clear. Alan |

| Dennis
Parcel received, with thanks. Unfortunately, UK Royal Mail mugged me for Duty, but that's not your fault. £3.36 Duty and £8.00 for the privilege of them paying it on my behalf!
I installed it in two minutes flat and am now just waiting on the appropriate mount to arrive from eBay. Can you advise though whether there's any challenge with installing the mount the other way around?
Alan |

| Hi Alan,
The mount was designed so that the arm would be positioned toward the rider.
Can you take a picture of the mount installed and post it on this forum.
Thank You,
DennisB |

I should have made the question clearer. Your instructions are very clear on how it is supposed to be mounted. I'm asking if there's any known issue with putting it on the other way around, to move the TomTom unit further away from the rider. - DennisB wrote:

I will but it'll have to be over the weekend. The light is already failing by the time I get home from work and the bike is under wraps at the moment. I need to work out how to post pictures too! |

| Hi Alan, I'm a designer and R/D person. I would say...it all depends on your GPS when fitted with your, yet to arrive, holder. DennisB |

| RVer, Welcome to the site. I bought Dennis's GPS mount and it works great. I really like it better than the mount I have on my handlebar. Is seems easier to see. Hope you get better Dennis. |
