I'll be watching you lot! Get it right then, stand up straight, put both feet together, and hands behind your back. Look the miscreant in the eyes and sternly say” 'Allo 'allo 'allo, wot's been goin' on 'ere then?” This is followed by the customary bending of the knees before drawing yourself up back to your full height. |

I'll be watching you lot! Now that's a proper introduction. Tell us nothing, but put us on notice of prosecution. A constable moonlighting as a politician. Welcome pardner. |

| "Allo Allo Allo," The Queens English Oxford Dictionary does not recognise the noun "creant" Is this not another aberration of the English language, perpetrated by Mssrs Webster and Co? We are not amused! Be careful my colonial friend, we are watching. When I get my Silver Wing Scooter, we will take serious notice of non introductees.
Mike O thank you for the visual introduction. The Colonials will now know who they are trying to toy with. Hi Yo, we are not amused with the "pardner" bit, not at all. The word is "partner" of which we are not. Cyber acquaintances maybe, but not partners. Your welcome is noted. For that we thank you! Until next time the Ariel Leader will need to suffice. Pip Pip. |

Kind of like progress and congress?

| Hmmmm....I wonder if naming babies "Bob(bobbie, bobby)" and "Robert" fell out of favor in the colonies around 1776 |

| I'm slightly lost Jeff; I can understand the name 'George' falling out of favour in 1776 but not 'Robert'. You probably know our policemen were nicknamed 'Bobbies' or Peelers' after Sir Robert Peel who helped create the modern concept of the Police Force.....he didn't come on the scene until 1788. |

| By the way we don't have any miscreants on this side of the pond. We sent them all packing back in 1781 |

| Mike, Was not aware of the source of the term Bobbies, or that it began in 1788. Had the term been in use in England prior to the American revolution, my reference/joke might have made sense. |

| Just so y'all know, My internet "WordWeb" dictionary says a "miscreant" is a "person without moral scruples". Therefore, a "Creant" has to be a "person with moral scruples". Not like the "miscreant" synonym of reprobate (an offender) also called by: black sheep, degenerate, deviant, deviate, pervert, scapegrace (archaic [old English??]), and wretch. Shows ya' how busy I am tonite. |

| Allo Ullo Allo, Somebody trying to trip me up laddie? You are embarrassing the English by suggestions of the nature of not being able to tell the difference between a drunken Glaswegian and an 'onest Edinborough Scots person of interest. Shame on you ,Shame shame shame. I was using the vernacular in the hope he would be able to understand the question as it is well known, guv, that the Scots don't speak Her Majesty's English.
MikeO Thank you for the reminder about the LE. In some areas of Metro area the LE's were a disadvantage with the alcohol based coolant of the times. The leaders were a better choice as being aircooled 2 strokers, the miscreants got what they deserved. Besides Honda copied the Ariel leaders' concept with the new Integra. You can see the lineage when a comparison is made side by side. The LE had the same attractive outlook of a WW1 tank. Most obvious is the fact that Velocette designers for the LE never met the Thruxton designers.
The colonials seem to have problems accepting the fact that they cannot justify making up words to apply to their sense of the English language. It is rather a take on a big inherent mistake! |

| I thought it might be Kurt from the beginning, he posted a photo of his convict issue handcuffs in another topic, and 'Edinborough' is similar to Erinsborough, the fictional Melbourne suburb in the Aussie soap 'Neighbours'. |

That honey you perved on, did she play Mrs Mangel? She'll be about 90 nowadays. |
