Blinkers always on Empty
PostSubject: Blinkers always on   Blinkers always on I_icon_minitimeFri Mar 07, 2014 3:53 am

Hey guys

on my SWT I have been installing on the topcase an additionnal amber strip led.

While doing it, I might have made a short cuircuit.

The fuse blow up, and when I installed a new one, the blinkers didn't blink, they are actually always on when I trigger the switch..

I have a custom led relay.

Do you think it is the relay or something else?

Thanks

Without seeing the wiring diagram for installing your LED accessories I can only imagine that you've managed to short circuit something. You could always go back to the 1st step and test at each additional step and that way isolate the failing component.

However most of those LED strips are powered by 12Volts. So if all you are trying to accomplish is to add LED turn signals to your top case then why not wire the strips directly to the rear turn signal circuit. The + wire of each LED strip connects to either the orange wire or the light blue (orange = left, light blue = right), while the remaining - wire attaches to the frame or a ground (earth) circuit.

But if you need those LED strips to be both running lights as well as turn signal lights then we're going to need to see that accessory wiring circuit to help with that problem

Tim

Hey tim

Thanks for your mail

I have added the strip in // to the back blinker.

What happened is that I made a wiring mistake that short circuited the fuse and the electronic led relay that I installed

I have changed the fuse and swapped the electronic led relay to the OEM one.

It works fine but I have the fast blinking issue

I re ordered an led relay from ebay for a couple of $$

Does anyone know the wiring color designation for the relay I just want to be sure before replacing the new one

Thanks
