Forum S/W picture mods ?

It appears the handle bars have been modified significantly. Can anyone provide details ?
Exhaust looks aftermarket too...

That would be my prior Silver Wing that met it's demise in 2010. Yes the handlebars were modified and the exhaust was a GPR Silver Wing model, but modified with a different mount and profile.  I would be happy to answer any question you may have.

Sorry to hear there was a mishap.  I hope no serious injuries.

Why and how did you modify the handle bars ?  I have looked at rotating the stock bars aft to make it more comfortable for me, but limited by handle bar covers and bar height ..  Appreciate any info on how you changed yours.

Hi Slick. There were a few mods to my bars. First, the covers were modified with a dremel to give more rearward movement (tilt back). Then the bars were re-bent to flatten the wrist position and make the width more spread. I am very wide in the shoulders and the stock position forced my wrists into an acute angle.

On my current S'Wing I will be ordering the alternative cover from Japan which leaves the bars exposed and thus allows the bars to be moved. Cover

As for re-bending the handlebars, I had a specialty hi tech device -- a ficus tree in my yard that had a lot of spots to wedge bars in and throw my weight against to bend. Worked very well.

Did you have any problems with the length of the brake/throttle cables after you pulled/moved the bars back?  
I thought about just ordering another set of handle bars….but maybe the metal working tree technique may save some $$$.
