| Just found out how to say 'hi' to everyone. I'm new to the forum and I own a 05 Silverwing - her name is 'Tarbaby'. She is solid black and has purple accent stripes on her. I have added a Givi windshield and trunk. I bought her new and she has almost 10,000 miles on her. I have only been riding about 3 years and had to take 1-1/2 years off that time for surgery and recoupment. But since I've been back on her - I'm on her a lot. I live in SE Texas in the Pineywoods. I don't care about riding in town - hate traffic lights and heat from 4 wheelers. Since I do live a ways out of any larger cities - I don't find many people that like to come and ride and so I've branched out to other smaller cities over in the Houston area. I'm a divorced, single, senior citizen female and there are not a lot of them out here either. I do belong to several groups, United Scooter Riders of Houston, Golden Triangle Scooter Riders in Beaumont, Southeast Texas Scooter Motorcycle Riders Forum, just joined the Waller Road Dawgs and the NE Houston Road Runners. Have not made any rides with the two that I have just joined. They are mainly M/C but I'm not going to hold that against them. My idea of a good ride is anytime the sun is out and I usually ride an average of 200-350 miles in a day - out in the wooded areas and smaller towns. Love to ride and used to ride with a friend (MC) and we trailered our bikes to Big Bend, Tx; Deadwood, SD and have riden both of those areas - just learning how to ride. Loved the Black Hills of SD and the mountain roads. Have wanted to make another trip up there - but without the trailer this time. Well, I've done what most females like to do - I've talked to much. Glad to be a member of your forum. Hope you have a good day and a GREAT WEEKEND. Laugh a lot and ride safe. Suzanne |

| I'll bet Big Bend on a scooter is a blast. We've been through in a MH, but never on bikes or scooters. Welcome. I'm an 8 year rider of motorcycles but less than three months on my Swing. |

| As one Opalsboy to one Opalsgirl... welcome... You are most welcome here. Begin posting all your questions and additions to the discussions ... Being from pineywoods ?.. I don't remember ever seeing a tree in Texas .. but if you want to trade "pine tree" or "woods" stories, trust me, I am an expert on both .... Gary |

| Suzanne, Welcome to the forum and post some pics of your rides in the Album section. You can create your own folder for your pics. There are some great people of this site with a lot of knowledge too so just ask away. And feel free to share anything you have done or know about the SWing too. Welcome. |

| Suzanne, I never said there were no pine trees in East Texas... what I said was... " I don't remember ever seeing a tree in Texas"... I am having trouble remembering ... period ... where does East Texas end... and West Texas begin... I have been down the middle a bunch and there did seem to be a shortage of trees ... A little foot note ::: a couple of weeks ago Dennis came for a visit and we drove down to meet Dick Lupton. I did a Google map search for his place... I want to nominate him for the hands down guy that lives in the woods. When I looked at the street view of Google maps... I couldn't see his house for the trees. But when we went to his house... I still couldn't see his house. I may have a problem remembering some things, but I KNOW that I HAVE NEVER been anywhere more in the woods. Suzanne, I want to make it clear, I meant no disrespect for trees or lack there of for any where on this planet. As everyone knows Texas takes up the biggest part of the planet. |

| There sure was a lot of great looking trees in south AR. BUT.... From what I have heard form the people that live in East Texas, their trees are Much, Much BIGGER. Or is that just one of those East Texas Bigger,Taller tree stories? The trunks are this wide.

I can confirm there are trees in Texas. - Opalsboy wrote:

and West Texas begin... Some people believe East Texas end and West Texas begins somewhere between Dallas (metropolitan) and Fort Worth (stockyards). |

| Well welcome and this is the time of life to go and enjoy and explore. I wander by myself most of the time. I'm on my first big trip by myself. I rode from near Cincinnati, to Charleston, WV and up to east of Erie, PA. I've put on about 1300 miles so far this trip and I'm loving just wandering on my own. I'm at my dad's cottage right now and taking day trips. My dad worries about my safety as a women traveling alone but I never feel unsafe. I did give in and get pepper spray that I keep in an unzipped pocket of my jacket. Enjoy!!! |
