Hi

I'm Bidet 1er, living in France.
Forgive my english. Smile

I'm the webmaster of http://silverwing-france.forumactif.org/, a french forum about our scooter.

I ride a 2007 silverwing 600 with some upgrades :
- Hyperpro springs
- Dr. Pulley sliders (27g)
- Givi Airflow screen
- Givi trekker top case
- and still in the box, a brand new pair of fournales rear absorbers.

Here's the beast :

Bidet 1er from France C0500859-e460-4e58-b2f3-3bed6f3005ea

I registered here because the maintenance information are very light in french.
But it also a good way to know silverwing's riders around the world.  king

Best regards.

Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself. Looks like you took your picture before installing your Givi Airflow. Please let us know how the fournales rear absorbers work out when you get them installed. Now I'm off to check out your forum.

Welcome.

I hope you enjoy our forum and find the information here useful. As far as I am aware there is only one SW owner here in the US who has been able to obtain and install Fournales shocks.

Do many SW riders in Europe find the Fournales an advantage over other replacement shocks?

Bienvenue ami. J'ai passé du temps en français afrique de nombreuses années passé (RCA), mais j'ai oublié la plupart de la langue française que j'ai appris. Maintenant, je compte sur Google Translate. Je vais visiter votre website. Et votre Silver Wing est très agréable!

Thanks.

It's easier and cheaper to buy Fournales in France. Maybe because it's made in the country?
The ohlins costs 250$ more and the french dealers sell mainly fournales. I know nobody who has bought another brand.

In another forum, a rider called "Sandro" have a 2005 FJS with fournales and hyperpro setup. He says it's the best way to have a good competitor for the Tmax. Smile
He does a lot of "sport" rides. He can follow bikes like CBR in winding roads.
Anyway, he has a J. Costa variator and is a good pilot.
But before Hyperpro and Fournales, his silverwing was dancing like Shakira in each turn... Smile

The first upgrade for an accurate bike is to install the hyperpro springs with the 20w forks oil. Then, the Silverwing becomes a new bike, with not "flowing" front wheel and too soft fork. The bike stops to dive when you brake. My genuine shock absorbers are on position 4.

I live near the french Alps, and it's a pleasure to take my silverwing for a fast ride. Smile
The last one was with a friend who rides a Honda Goldwing. This one drives it like a superbike. It was difficult to stay in his rear wheel on the large turns, but in the hairpin bends and the winding roads, i was in front.

SccoterBJ, your french is better than my english. Wink
I also use google translate. Dont hesitate to correct me, i need to learn!

I like the mood here. Smile

Bidet 1er?
Isn't a bidet a bathroom (salle de bain) fixture designed to wash the female genitalia?
Could you explain your username? Just curious.
I am le grand oiseau, named after the famous Sesame Street character on television. I have been told I look like BigBird, thus the username.
Oh, and BTW, welcome.

Hahahaha. You're right! Laughing
We use the same word in french and in english for that :

Bidet 1er from France Century_urinal-bidet_14

Because of the form of the bike and the big trunk under the seat, all scooter was nicknamed "bidet". It's a joke with some silverwing riders. Smile

And i'm calling "Bidet 1er" (Bidet, the first) because i'm the webmaster of silverwing-france.
So i'm french bidet king.  king

Hi and Welcome to the forum.

Do you by any chance speak Italian too?

There is a huge active Italian Silverwing forum, and you may find they have information on access to parts in Europe that we don't have here in the USA.
I think that one or more of their people race a Silverwing.

I believe they have a lot of meets and rides as well.

Is there a button on your website that will allow me to see your forum translated in English, or should I use google Translate?

Dan

Bonjour, Bidet 1er. Welcome, Bienvenue sur le site des SWingers. I am visiting the Biarritz area in July for 3 weeks. I absolutely love France, have visited several times and have family in Paris and Biarritz. Le Paradis se trouve au Sud de la France, et le Nord de L'Espagne.
