| Since I have completed most mechanical upgrades / changes I am now looking to cosmetics. Since my scoot does need repainting in some areas, I am interested in instead doing a complete, or partial vinyl wrap.
Anyone have experience with either the 3M or Avery automotive paint wrap materials? |

| You could use that paint they put on hotwheels toy cars that changes color when it gets wet.

| No, you were correct. Boss Hoss uses V8 Engines
I was making a 'Dukes of Hazard' reference. Couldn't picture wrapping the bike like a white Cadillac with steer horns on the front. Now the General Lee on the other hand..... |

| Now a 'Dukes of Hazard / General Lee' theme is tempting. However, I already get pegged as redneck, white-trash, so I am sure that would not help.
How about a 'Smokey and the Bandit' Burt Reynolds Trans Am theme? "East-bound and down, good buddy". |

| The shaker scoop with 6.6 on it is gonna look pretty weird on your front fender. You could put the T-Top striping on the tail box....
I just had a stroke of insanity. When you find the wrap company you want. (Most will wrap any picture) Give them the bandit Screamin' Chicken to Wrap on your bike. Black paint with gold pin striping. That would be AWESOME! Or for color, use the '79 Silver Anniversary edition.
On a side note...last year I decided to get rid of all my vinyl and get the CD version of what I had. You have no idea how rare the Smokey and the Bandit Soundtrack is on CD. |

| Picture the following:
Somebody walks into Paul Jr. Designs (the son from American Chopper)
"Its the anniversary of the greatest chase movie ever made and we want a theme bike...."

Seriously though BJ, have you made any progress with regard to wrapping?

| Progress (other then laughs), nah' -- I would be looking at mid fall at the earliest. Since my SWing is the 2004 candy raspberry red, a fancy-a** name for burgundy in my view, I was looking at darker silver or titanium as a contrasting color for portions of the body panels. If I were to do the entire wrap, I like the copper-bronze-orange-ish color of the new Z-06 Corvette. Likely that exact color is not available, but maybe something similar. Or maybe I could do woodgrain panels like a 1970's Country Squire station wagon. Nah, maybe not. |

| I usually see both summer and winter camo available in wraps.
Of course, you want your bike to stand out, not be camouflaged. |

| I think Id like a desert storm motif, Abrams main battle tank wrap. This would be a huge advantage in the evening traffic. Something gripping about staring down the barrel of a 120mm loaded with AP. Watch for it, watch for it, watch for it, too late.......... you're dust! |

| A friend over here had his Burgman 'done' with body-wrap. It looked very good. Then he had an 'off' and damaged some of the pamels. In the meantime the company who did it went bust eo he ended up having the whole lot taken off.
Paint for him was much better in the long run. |

| I carbon fiber wrapped the underskirts and exhaust of my SWing. It was easy to apply and its been on for over a year and still looks sharp. Cost me around $10 to get enough to do these parts and the mirrors plus a bit left over to do other small projects. I would think a $100 would cover the cost of doing the complete SWing. I think it would look awesome in total CF. There are a few youtube videos showing wraps being applied to bikes etc. |

| I am currently thinking of this. Lower skits along bottom in semi-gloss black. Portions of side panels in a titanium (dark silver) gloss. Base color of dark-cherry-red-burgandy-whatever left visible on remaining panels. Maybe I will try to photoshop up something to get an idea. Comments? |
