Exactly what I did. Soapy water works like a dream. I did trim about 1/4 - 1/2" as they come 5" which is too long for SW grips. As far as trimming goes, be a little on a conservative side as grip puppies do compress a little. Oh, and I used regular scisors for cutting them down. Thanks. |

| Or try DennisB's idea and buy a $1.50 (+/-) length (6') of foam pipe insulation from any hardware store. This'll give you several replacements of grip "puppies" for next to nothing. |

| I tried DennisB's homemade foam insulation grips and found that, while they are a good, cheap remedy for some of you "big-fisted" folks out there, that they simply made a grip that was too fat for my short stubby hands and fingers. Think I'll try the Grip Puppies that have a wall thickness of only 0.15 inches. Might be easier for me to grip. |

| The last time I installed grip puppies, I did the soapy water trick. But, it took about a day for the water to work it's way out of the grips. So I thought I would try something else, this time. I simply sprayed the inside of the grip and the bars with a household cleaner (409 or Fantastik here in the US). It worked great! I didn't have to hurry and they were "dry" and stuck tight in about 20 minutes...

| Not sure this would work on grip puppies... but when installing grips on motorcycles, I use rubbing alcohol. Clean the bar, throttle slide then slosh some rubbing alcohol inside the grip then it will slide right on. No residue and no waiting. Have done this many times.
Only caveat here is will the alcohol damage the puppies? I don't know for certain. It does NOT hurt rubber grips at all. Good luck.

| As I've said before on here, Grip Puppies stop the majority of heat reaching your hands if you have heated grips fitted. |

| When I put grips or grip puppies on I spray the inside with my wifes hairspray. It helps them slip on and then when dry they are stuck on pretty good. I usually let them sit over night to dry. |
