| Hello, I bought a new 2012 Silverwing last Friday. It was $5999. I hope to take delivery today. I'm moving up from a Yamaha TW200 ('turkey wing'). I'm exited to finally be able to get on major roads and interstates. First order of business will be to rig up a cup holder and phone mount. And I see y'all talk a lot about that Givi Airflow Adjustable windshield. Fairly soon, I plan to start making periodic trips up to the Smokey Mtn area to see my grandsons. |

| Welcome to the best Silverwing site on the web. I found a cup holder like the picture below at Target in the bicycle department. Here's a link to the cup holder, Cup Holder I had to loosen the clamp for the brake and move it a little to make room, but it works great. You can also get an insert to hold smaller things like cans. Here's a link to the insert, Insert I haven't bought an insert yet so I can't say how well it works. |

| Welcome - Just picked up a 2012 Silverwing also. Only have 300 miles on it so far but got it on the frway last week and it was extremely smooth - I mean REALLY smooth at an indicated 70 MPH. This is a great forum w/lots of tips etc. and lively conversations. I also have a Suzuki V-Strom and I'll probably take the Silverwing on my next trip as it seems smoother and more comfortable. I don't off-road much anymore which would be a good place for the V-Strom. |

| So I picked up the S'Wing and drove it home - got it up to 65 on a city street - which is the fastest I've ever been on a motorcycle. Definitely a huge move up in power from the Yamaha TW200. I had to get the SW home and get back to work. Next step will be a trip up to 70+ on the interstate. Taking corners is gonna be different from the TW200. I usually coasted. The SW seems a little too heavy for that. I seem to still need a little acceleration to make the turn. A lot lot learn - I now have all of 12 miles SWing. WoW, in Britian you can't drink coffee at a red light?. What in heck is wrong with them people . Didn't know this but I can get an insurance discount for taking a MC class, and another for being in a riding group. Hmnn. Thank all of you for your thoughts. I'm sure I'll want some help soon. Great forum, Mr. Admin. |

| It won't coast round a corner as the clutch doesn't disengage until less than about 10MPH is reached (give or take). Driving round corners is a skill quickly mastered.
I think also that a Silverwing will turn in more quickly than a motorcycle because it has smaller wheels. I stand to be corrected - I've never ridden a motorcycle so it's hearsay. |

| Well it's nice to know that Majac00 has his priorities right, doing 65mph on a city street isn't that 20 mph faster than the Louisiana speed limit for residential areas? But of course it's good practice before venturing out onto that Interstate.

| You are correct sir. I did break the law. That particular street is a long straightaway and fairly remote for the city. Please don't tell the police - this is Louisiana after all. Just picked it up - had to see what it'll do. I only started riding at age 50 (58 now) and consider myself a very conservative driver. At least most of the time. Thanks for your input Meldrew. |
