thanks everyone! I"m 67 and have a 2007 (gasp) harley ultra glide I thanks again bought new and rode to Alaska. Also own Honda st1100 sport tourer, which I have owned for years. A suzuki dr650 dual sport bike that I"ve ridden the contential devide for the last two summers. Also have a honda helix with 20k miles and a Honda Silverwing with 16K (yep belt light just a came on). Wife and I enjoy the weight ( or lack there of ) the helix and silverwing. They are so much fun to ride around the countryside. SO quiet and almost no engine heat which is a big plus with Alabama summers. Thanks again for the welcome everyone

My handle is "Pop Newton". I haven't been on the site for a while so I thought I would reintroduce myself. I'm a retired police officer of 30+ years and currently serve as director of the Emergency Management Agency for my County. I suppose I'll retire someday but I still love going to work. I have had scooters about all my life and even had an old "Wizzer" motorized bicycle when I was a teenager. my wife and I traveled for many years on a gold wing but when she got back trouble, I sold it. I then bought my silver wing scooter in 2003 and just love it. I try to get in at least one 500+ mile trip by year but mainly, I just use it for local commuting. anyway, I haven't been around this site in a while and I want to get back to reading the great stories and tips.
