As known by allot of you, I harbor a bit of an imagination and put this to good use from time to time.

Walt Disney has produced some great animated films in the past about CARS, FINDING NEMO, DINOSAUR and a bunch of other wonderful movies enjoyed by both adults and children.

OK now for the story line:

Here's mine...and please add to it.

A good, soft hearted young Honda SilverWing named Ben and his girlfriend (Vespa) are confronted by a biker gang of outlaw Harleys at a national park and the girlfriend is abducted and taken to their club house in Alaska and held against her will. They just don't need a reason except for being jealous and mean hearted and maybe selling her for parts on eBay.
After some quick repairs and recovery Ben sets out to rescue his young love Vespa from the clutches of this outlaw Harley bike gang and their leader named Spike...but how?

Keep in mined that all the other Harleys he meets are good honest bikes and help him on his quest to rescue young Vespa and get her back home.

And now some of you other very gifted story writing people out their....keep the story going...... Disney just might want to use this story someday.

Just a few thoughts..

Assigning personalities (& voices) to different brands of bikes:

BMW has a German attitude and accent. (Think Franz Liebkind in "The Producers".) Very gregarious and Loud.

Older Honda's Goldwing are grampa, very laid back.

The old style Silverwing 650 takes the sensei position.

The Silverwing Scooter could be thought of as a teenager, since it is more than a moped, but not quite a motorcycle.

Suzuki has a Japanese accent with a go-fast mentality.

Mopeds are childlike.

Harley's are Gruff and crude, but good people. (This actually reflects the Harley Culture, since many long time Harley Riders are good people that get a bad reputation from a few biker gangs that maintain the outlaw attitude.) When I think Human versions of Harley, I think Willie Nelson, James Dean, etc.

A cusom bike (American Chopper Style) could be the character with an ego, very shallow and vain.

Just a few thoughts.

Looks like Ben and his small band of heroes is going to need an old retired Harley-Davidson Flathead outlaw bike named Sludge to help him understand the mind set of new outlaw bike gangs, the why and how they do things.

Sludge would like to join in on this rescue mission but is held back by a plumb wore out bottom end and leaky compression rings that aren't worth a darn and not to mention that his old lady "K", (was a model in her day), would leave him if he did. They both cough and smoke allot and do allot recalling of their younger years of riding the roads together.

Well, Ben in his revenge went to the extreme and shed all of his tupperware and exchanged it for some imitation tupperware from his stablemate a Kawasaki V 250 Eliminator, Kenny. Knowing full well the Outlaws would be doped up or p&ss#d.
In his disquise he and Sludge try to infiltrate the gang by talking tough and swearing a lot and with a Bourbon Quart bottle full of cold tea, a trick learnt in Hollywood's James Arness's "Gunsmoke" to fool people into thinking they were also on the booze

over to you....NEXT!!!!!

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 13, 2009 8:09 pm

When he woke, the parking lot where he had just confronted the outlaw Harley bike gang and their leader Spike, was empty. The evening air was cool at this altitude and stayed like that most of the summer and it felt good on his bruised and scratched front fairing. He had looked around the parking lot and did not see any sign of Vespa except for a few tire marks where they dragged her to the waiting trailer. He blamed him self and should have been more watchful of who or what was coming up behind him. In mid sentence the lights went out and he crashed to the pavement where the gang members must have kicked him and left him unconscious.
Still dazed and a bit confused he drove home that night all the while thinking not of him self but of his love Vespa and how she was doing in the company of those that wanted to dismantle her and sell her parts to the highest bidder and still the last words he heard before the lights went out kept running through his thoughts over and over. Spikes words… and they just cut into him like a spill on a gravel road going eighty “I’ll take her if I want and you’ll never see her again in one piece” Ben’s response to the statement was cut short when a blow from behind rendered him unconscious…..who hit me and with what? I’ll find out someday, he thought and then his thoughts went back to Vespa.
With all these things running in his mined, replaying the events of that evening over and over, the trip home went quickly and with out incident.

In a big rush, all of Bens boy scout skills flashed in front of his eyes. "Thats it" he exclaimed as he stirred Sludge from his slumber, the silly bugger had accidentally put back the bourbon into the bottle ,Sludge cam around slowly and started thowing punches. After quelling him Ben suggested they follow the numerous tyre prints and the drag mark from Vespa where she defiantly had her back brakes locked. Man, they travelled high and low along many desert roads pathways until they came across a rundown hacienda( house to you lot LOL) Sludge in his inimitable ways hurled some strings of fireworx through the open window. The outlaws thought they were the target of a police raid and started firing indiscriminatelly around the house. Unfortunately Pancho, the Mexican made harley lookalike was disquised as a door and had his knob shot off ( He had one of those obsolete hand change mechanisms) Ben noticed a Ford f350 lurking around the back and gave chase as he had mistakenly thought Vespa was in the back under the canopy. Scheise , he exclamied and..........................................................

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeFri Aug 14, 2009 9:37 am

That night sleep did not come to Ben for the words of the local Police Harleys that arrived at the abduction investigation kept him from that most needed rest. After the investigation was complete the chief investigator pulled Ben aside and told him they would do what they could to find Vespa… but there was no guarantees of recovering her in one piece. He has seen this type of abduction before and the chances of recovery were very slim at best.

Rain had moved in over night and the quite valley where Ben’s cozy little garage was located. The sound of thunder and brilliant flashes of lightning came thought the windows of Ben’s garage. Ben did not notice for he had work to get done. All that day he replaced the broken and cracked body panels, installed new spark plugs, fresh oil and filter, aired up his tires, and checked his air filter. He was ready to go that evening and he felt good.

That night Ben slept soundly and dreamt about Vespa and the first time he had seen her cruising down Main Street. This Bright red GTS 300 Super really caught is attention. He almost drove off from the gas pump without paying. What was he thinking, he thought to himself. That little red scooter really put a hook into him.

Morning came quickly for Ben and he found the morning cold and damp after the storm the day before had passed. He rolled out of the garage and closed the door and locked it, turned and rolled down his well worn driveway and stopped for a moment to look at the flowers Vespa plated along the edge of his driveway on his last birthday. Turned left and drove down his quite street toward town. Lights from the other garages on his street where starting to come on and soft morning conversations filled the air.

He needed to fuel up.

Hey Kurt, This or any forum is kind of like a parade. You have:

-Those that came up with idea to have the parade.

-Those that march down the middle of the street and wave.

-And those that stand on the side of the street and wave back.

All are just as important and it just wouldn’t be a parade with out them.

DennisB

Totally agree mate.

Sorry I was giving the impression of disappointment or anything other than trying to have a wind up to get a response. I totally agree, but sometimes one just needs a prod to show their talents.
Kurt

YAHHHHOOO it worked....

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeSat Aug 15, 2009 9:34 am

Alaska...you’re heading for Alaska! Victor the attendant at the service station was in disbelief when Ben told him his destination. And you’re going alone! Are you crazy! Ben has always been a quiet type and shared very little information outside of his small circle of close friends. Yes... said Ben. And I need to get up there as fast as I can. Your one crazy Silverwing to be heading to Alaska all by yourself, you know that? It’s a matter of life or death to Vespa. Vespa! That cute little red scooter that comes in here every so often to fill up? Asked Victor. Yes, said Ben. What happened to her?

Ben took a few moments and told Victor the events of the past couple of days. As the story unfolded the expression on Victor’s face went from deep concern to down rite being mad. After the story was told Victor quietly rolled over to the front door and turned over the open/closed sign and switched lights off. Then he looked a Ben and said, that Vespa, I really like her and I’m going with you and don’t give me any argument about it. Ben looked at Victor and thought to him self, this BSA has guts.

The sun was just rising and the day looked promising.

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeSat Aug 15, 2009 11:59 am

As Ben and Victor started off in the cool morning breeze, with a look of sheer determination, they ran across a group of "senior citizen" scooters (Helix's) at a rest stop. After telling them their story they told Ben and Victor about seeing a red Vespa heading up north. This made Ben even more determined to get keep going. Ben, keeping a photo of Vespa on his handbar cover would stare at the photo when he would get tired and unsure if he would ever see Vespa again.

Seeing Vespa's photo during his mission would just make him more determined to keep "chugging" along. Along the way they rode around Lake Tahoe, remembering that Vespa always wanted to visit this wonderful lake. While refueling at the last gas station before leaving Lake Tahoe, they noticed a group of "Canadian" tourists just parked there. So Victor, being "English" and making him a distant cousin, told them of their mission to Alaska. The tourists then informed them of a good spot to cross the border, since there is now a "heightened alert" since this kidnapping. Ben knew his passport's picture was that of him being a SWing and not of his new identity......

which was of a wierd combination of Eliminator and Swing. Ben feeling a bit sad at having to let Sludge go and replay his life over and over in his stupor with only the ol lady K there to comfort him. He sat at the roundabout before the crossing, and to paraphrase Homer Simpson kept repeating over and over " C A N A D I A N, E H H H!" , as he contemplated using a Canadian accent to ease his way oover there to blend in with the crowd.
The first Canadian he met, was a big burly lumberjack, and he was OK, but only spoke French with broken English. "Ziss iz crazy monsuer", he muttered "Canada iz a beeg country. You kannot cover ziss in a lifetime!" Yoy vill need a guide.Sacre bleu"
The trio of amigos then loaded up emergency supplies to move north to Juno, where they might pick up the trail again. Victor, being related to the Victor(or Victa for the Ozzies as well) had a great history with keeping the old single cyl 2 and 4 bangers mobile, a very handy and useful guy to have along. Victors life was 0.14" gaps.

speaking of gaps...............

The sun was just setting when Ben, Victor, and now Frenchy, Yea… Frenchy, Ben was not sure what type of scooter or motorcycle he was. Frenchy was covered from one end to the other in road rash and dirt. A rat bike with a heart of gold. They pulled away from the last filling station at Tahoe Lake and headed west into the setting sun. They rode for a couple of hours and pulled into a camping area for the night. The camp ground was clean and was not crowded and the three settled in around a quickly made campfire. Conversation between the three was light hearted and the evening past into next morning. All the while Ben was thinking of Vespa and what Sludge had told him of about outlaw Harley clubs….in just a few minutes after the others said goodnight, he also fell asleep and only was woken a couple of time by Frenchy’s snoring.

The next morning all three needed fuel and the sky was looking like a summer storm was moving in off the west coast. Ben looked at his companions and nodded, an unspoken agreement to get under way and they all wheeled toward the open highway west and then north toward Oregon…..

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeSun Aug 16, 2009 7:50 am

The trio followed interstate 5 North for most of that morning. It started to rain around 10:30 and rained and rained hard for a time. The wet trio pulled over once because they just couldn’t see through all that water. While they were on the side of the road 2 old Harley’s roared by. Smoke billowing from old tarnished tail pipes, and stopped 100 feet down the road and flashed their brake lights at the trio. Ben and the others looked at each other in wonderment and finally rolled up the wet road to where the 2 old Harley’s had stopped.

When they finally reached the 2 overheated Harley’s, Ben’s smile could be seen all the way the next county….it was Sludge and K from Ben’s home town. K rolled over to Ben and gave him a big, wet hug. Sludge looked at Ben and smiled and said, Can’t just let you go off and have all the fun, now can we… besides I have news about Vespa and those low down outlaw Harley’s that are holding her.

Ben’s attention snapped onto Sludge’s words and for a moment it seemed like hours before Sludge spoke again even though is was only for a brief time…

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeSun Aug 16, 2009 9:57 am

Let’s get off this wet road and I will tell you of what’s been going on. I’m soaked all the way down to my sparkplugs, said Sludge. They all agreed to move off the highway and rolled up the road to the next filling station where they all filled up with some needed fuel.

During the fill up, Sludge told Ben that the local police Harley investigator contacted the state wide Alaskan and Canadian law enforcement. EBay was also notified to be watchful of Vespa’s parts being up for sale. This worked and Vespa’s parts were being put on eBay and sold out of Alaska as the point of origin. The police Harley’s have been buying all of Vespa’s parts they can in hopes that when Vespa‘s recovered they can put her back together and use these parts as evidence to convict the outlaw Harley’s of scooter napping and selling her stolen parts. Since they are took her over state lines the FBI is getting involved. Don’t worry Ben…well get her back, I promise you that, said K with a concerned smile on her face.

This bad news about Vespa’s parts on eBay saddened Ben and made him wish he was in Alaska that very moment. We must get there, Ben stated, and fast. We will said Sludge, we will.

During the fill up Ben introduced K and Sludge to Victor and Frenchy. Sludge knew Victor from the home filling station, but Frenchy….something did seem familiar about him. It was like they had met once before, some where, at another time. O’well, he thought, It well come to him sooner or later.

The rain had all but stopped and now the five of them had full tanks. Let’s take a ride, Sludge yelled, and soon all were back on the interstate heading north toward Alaska and Vespa’s rescue.

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeMon Aug 17, 2009 8:45 am

The miles past and so did the time. Soon morning became noon and then became evening. The group pulled into Pine Tree Camp Grounds just south of the Oregon state line. Road tried and needing rest. K’s rear tire was in need of a little air. After the group settled in, Sludge and K went to see if they could find someone with an air pump. An hour went by and it was dark by then. Here they come, Victor said, and sure enough two head lights came bouncing up the road toward them. As the two approached, Ben noticed a big grin on Sludge’s face. Sludge and K moved over next to the campfire and settled in to get warm. I have some great news for you all. Sludge spoke, how would you all like a truck ride all the way to Alaska? Compliments of Mack and his trailer. The group looked at one another. Sludge finished his story. While we were out trying to find an air pump we came across a trucker in a rest area, not to far from here. He had an air pump and a destination of Anchorage, Alaska. He has chains and tie down straps for all of us. We just need to be at the rest area in the morning. One more thing…he already knew about Vespa being scooter napped, seems the news people got a hold of the story and it’s all over the TV and the news papers.

Ben’s thoughts went to Vespa’s safety. If the outlaw Harley’s know that the whole world is looking for her they might just dump her some where. We need to get there and FAST.

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeMon Aug 17, 2009 2:23 pm

They all retired early that evening, worn out from the long ride from Lake Tahoe.

Morning came early the next day, a bright and sunny day, and all in the group were ready to ride. Sludge was in the lead and the others followed. It wasn’t long before they arrived at the rest area where they were met by news trucks reporters and most important of all a California State Police escort to get them to the California State line as fast as possible. Ben didn’t like all the media attention but he sure liked the idea of getting to Alaska quickly.

They got chained down and secured to Mack’s trailer and off they went. It was not long before the Oregon state line was in sight and a new escort of Oregon State Police took over the duty of a quick and safe trip through their state. All the while a long stream of news trucks and reporters followed Mack on his journey north. Ben looked over his shoulder at all the news trucks following and just shook his head.

It wasn’t long before the Washington state line was in sight and again Washington state troopers took the job of escorts. Now, almost to the Canadian border, Mack needed to take a rest break and fuel up for the next leg of the journey….Canada.

That night the news reporters were kept at a good distance by the Washington State Troopers. Mack had his fill of high quality diesel fuel and needed to get some rest. The others decided to just stay on the trailer that night.

The next morning an official U.S. Army Humvee made its way over to where Ben and the others waited. I’m Captain Jane of the U.S. Army Command, Alaska and I have orders to escort you to a classified nearby air field where a C-130 is waiting to fly you to Anchorage. I suggest you follow me and don’t worry… the news trucks will not be following us. The Captain said with a grin on her face as she looked into each face of the group still chained the trailer. One face caught her attention, it was Frenchy. She had that feeling that she had seen this bike before, somewhere...

OK… everyone off the trailer and follow me. Sorry, but the truck needs to stay here for now. Mack looked down at the ground and said, That’s OK, I’ll just take the roads to Anchorage… but some day I sure would like to ride in one of those airplanes. That would be a lot of fun.

They all took turns thanking Mack for all he has done and received a big hug from K as she said to him, we will see you soon.

Follow me, the Captain quietly whispered to the group and they all slipped onto a hidden back service road and were gone.

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeTue Aug 18, 2009 12:33 pm

The five bikes and the Humvee moved quietly down to were a large covered green Army truck was camouflaged with branches of trees and brush from the nearby forest. The Captain spoke in a whisper, we haven’t much time…get in the back and hold on, we’ll be on our way shortly. The five did as they were told and in a few minutes the truck’s engine came to life and started to move. With Captain Jane in the lead they traveled for about hour over some of the worst dirt roads that most of the group could remember. Bouncing up and down and side to side violently for most of the trip.

The truck came to an abrupt stop at a U.S. Marine guarded gate. The guards saluted Captain Jane and raised the barricade bar to let the small convoy pass. Once inside the compound the road smoothed and a few minutes later came to a stop. The back cover of the truck was thrown open by Captain Jane and day light rushed in to where the five waited. Ramps were placed at the back of the truck and all exited the truck to find themselves on a small air field surrounded by military air craft of all types.

Come…Follow me and stay close, said Captain Jane. The five were lead to a small air terminal where many different groups of military bikes and scooters waited to be shipped out. Rolling through this building they were passed by what looked like a group of very high ranking foreign diplomats. A few seconds later a voice was heard to come from the group of diplomats. FRENCHY, FRENCHY, the voice repeated. IS THAT REALLY YOU!!

Frenchy turned and looked in the direction of the voice…

The covering tarp was finally remove from Vespa and the garage she was in seemed strange to her. It smelled of rodents, stale beer and old used motor oil. It had been three days since her abduction at the national park and she was sore from the chains and ropes cutting in and scratching her body parts. Ben…what happen to my Ben she wondered.

Welcome to Alaska little lady! A harsh voice that came out of the darkness. A voice that she remembered. The voice belonging to the outlaw Harley gang leader Spike. Did you have a nice trip? Soft laughter rose from all around her, other Harley gang members were in the garage with them hidden in the dark shadows. Vespa did not say a word. We left your boy friend in the parking lot unconscious, Spike said. Ben…Vespa said quietly. BEN!!! Spikes voice rang out. That was his name? BEN needed a lesson in manors so we obliged him. I hope we didn’t put to many scratches in Ben’s nice new Honda faring. That would be a shame, wouldn’t boys? Laughter again came from the shadows. Vespa was thinking of how these bikes were a bunch of cowards.

Axel Nut! Stay here and keep an eye on her. We need to go into town and get some beer, oil, computer parts, and information. It should only take us a couple of hours….keep a close watch on her now…you hear! I hear-hear Ya! Axel Nut replied. The bike called Axel Nut was an older Pan Head with a broken head light that seemed to leak dirty oil all over him self and had a bit of a nervous stutter when he talked to any one he feared.

The side door on the garage opened and six bikes rolled out and then closed. Vespa noticed that it was in the evening and the garage was located in a heavily wooded area, maybe in the mountains. All the windows were covered with old plywood and a single low wattage light bulb burned far above in the garages cobweb covered rafters.

Where are we? Vespa asked. Are we near Anchorage? How long am I to be held captive by you and this gang? You know you are all in big trouble? It would be smart of you to just let me go. QUIET! Yelled Axel Nut. Me like you but must do what Spike tells me to do….OK!

Vespa just closed her eyes and thought about Ben and whished he was there with her.

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeWed Aug 19, 2009 7:59 am

After a few minutes Axel Nut rolled over to the garage side door, opened it and looked out onto the fading light of late evening. Vespa saw a chance to escape her captor. She reach down to the gravel covered floor and picked up a few good sized throwing rocks.

Is that Spike I hear? She asked. Axel Nut lend out the door even further.

Vespa throw the rocks at the light bulb over her head breaking the bulb. The garage went even darker. Quietly she rolled over to the darkest corner of the garage and stood very still. Axel Nut now blinded by the darkness, Yelled, YOU CAN HIDE BUT I WILL FIND YOU. He rolled over the large front door and opened it. Vespa used every cubic centimeter of her 300cc motor and shot past Axel Nut like a bullet. Just one big red Blur. She was FREE! She could hear Axel Nut trying to start his Pan Head motor. What a joke she thought to herself. That sound faded quickly behind her.

She needed a place to hide until the other outlaw Harleys past her on their return trip back to the garage, she was thinking. The sun was now setting and that was on her side. She needed to time this just right or she would be caught again. She saw a small shack, just to her right about 100 feet off the road among a stand of small pine trees.

I can’t out run these Harley’s but I can out think them, she thought to herself.

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeWed Aug 19, 2009 1:28 pm

The evening air was cold and snow started to lightly fall when Vespa reached the small shack. A slight whiff of smoke came from the shacks stone chimney. Vespa knew that someone was inside. She quietly approached the shack. A golden, friendly, hue seemed to emanate from the small front window.

She looked in.

There was an older red Indian Scout motorcycle seated in front of a small warm fire. A shawl was over the bike as she sat their looking into the fire that danced for her. Vespa desperately needed a place to hide for a short time, until it was safe to travel again. She rolled over to the front door and knocked. A few moments later the door opened and their stood the old Scout. MY DEAR…said the old Scout, Please come in… out of the cold night air. Vespa entered the front door and then smelled fresh brewed tea with cinnamon. It filled the small room where they stood. The warmth of the fire could be felt several feet away and it felt good to Vespa. Please come over to the fire and warm your self and I will get you something to drink…would cinnamon tea be alright with you? Yes, that sounds wonderful, Vespa responded. Vespa looked out the window and the snow started to come down heavier. This will hide any trace of my coming here, she thought.

Here you are my dear…and the old Scout handed her a cup of some of the most fabulous smelling tea she had ever been this close to, let alone to try. My name is Valerie but my friends call me Val. Then Val it is. My name is Vespa and thank you so much for your hospitality on this cold night.

The two settled down near the warm fire and Vespa told Val of what happen to her over the last few days. Just then the sound of a lone Harley Pan Head roaring by could be herd and then the sound faded into the distance and then it was quiet once again in the small shack, both bikes next to the warm fire that crackled and danced.

The eldest and most senior foreign diplomat was standing not more than 10 feet away from Frenchy when Frenchy turned to look to see who was calling his name. IT IS YOU! The diplomat said. With tears welling in his old eyes, he snapped to the position of attention and saluted. Frenchy also snapped to attention and saluted back and then dropped the salute. Sir… I thought you were killed by the Nazi’s all those years ago, the diplomat said. NO, NO, NO, Frenchy said. I was to mean and tough to die but their means. SIR… you ARE the most highly decorated Free French rĂ©sistance commander to come out of WW2 and it was my Honor to serve under your command, SIR! That was a long time ago and I live in Quebec, Canada now, said Frenchy. I’m on a new mission at this very moment and I must be on my way. I will see you again, very soon, my old First Sergeant, you can count on that.

The two old bikes turned and went their own ways. Sludge was thinking…that’s where I remember him from. Normandy…yea Normandy. He was a killer and a darn good one at that.

Captain Jane led the five bikes to the C-130 and all were loaded on to the plane. Good luck to you all… this is where I leave you. Have a safe fight and remember to turn off all your cell phones during the flight. She saluted the group turned and walked away. Ben took out his cell phone and turned it off and put it back in his glove box.

The C-130’s rear cargo ramp slowly closed and the plane taxied to the take off position on the runway and soon they were on their way.

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeWed Aug 19, 2009 8:44 pm

After just a few minutes into the flight to Anchorage, Ben was thinking how lucky he was to have such a great bunch with him. He closed his eyes and fell into a deep, deep sleep. The next sound that woke him was the landing gear coming down.

The C-130 landed without incident and taxied to a stop. The cargo ramp opened. It was evening and the sun was just setting. Light snow started to fall. The group unlatched themselves from the plane and started down the ramp. An olive drab green Air force pick-up truck pulled up to where the group stood and said…I’m Sergeant John and I will escort you to your lodging here in Anchorage. Here are your hotel key’s all compliments of Uncle Sam. The keys were passed out. Follow me and try to keep up Sargeant John barked.

Later on in the hotel bar all five members met after settling into their rooms.

Well…how do all of you want to start, Victor asked. They needed a plan. Ben suggested going to the local news paper and talking to some of the local crime reporters to see if they have any information about a outlaw Harley gang led buy a bike named Spike. They all agreed that it sounded good. Sludge suggested going to some of the local beer bars and doing a little undercover work to get information. That sounds good to me. Lets split into two groups and get a start in the morning.

They all went back to their rooms for the night. Ben after getting a good sleep on the plane trip decided to do a bit of looking on his own. He left his room and went to the corner gas station to top off his tank. As he was paying the attendant an old Pan Head Harley pulled into get gas. Ben decided hang back on leaving and acted like he was reading a magazine. The old Pan Head with a broken head light came in. Ben could see that the bike was under a great deal of stress. He’s going to kill me; He’s is going to kill me. He kept whispering to himself over and over. Kill you! The attendant asked. YEA…SPIKE! The Pan Head yelled. Your one crazy you old bike… you know that Axel Nut. Get out of hear. Go on!

Ben decided to follow Axel Nut.

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 20, 2009 9:01 am

After a very enjoyable evening of talking by the fire and drinking some of the finest cinnamon tea she ever had. The new friends called it a night and got some needed sleep.

Vespa slept by the fireplace that night and thought of Ben until she drifted off to sleep.

The next morning the skies were clear and the small amount of snow left by the storm had melted away. Vespa woke that morning with the morning sun shining through the window and aroma of fresh brewed coffee filling the room. Val rolled into the main room with a cup of hot coffee and set it down on the small table next to Vespa. Good Morning…I hope you like your coffee black, Val asked. That is just fine and thank you, said Vespa.

After finishing the morning coffee, Vespa asked…do you have a phone I could use? Sorry, No was Val’s response. We can take a ride into town this morning and go to the police station so you can tell them your story and use the phone. I’m sure Ben is worried sick about you.

A few minutes later they were on there way to town.

Sludge, while they were getting ready to hit the sack, decided it was high time to lighten the atmosphere a bit, so whithy the drunken slur of a hobo, he came out with " Youse guys are really p*(&^%g me off with ya grumpy attitude so's ahm agona tells ya a joke Now listen up boys,

A mother was working in the kitchen, listening to her five-year-old son playing with his new electric train set in the living room.

She heard the train stop and her son saying, 'All of You b*****ds who want off, get off now, 'cos we're in a hurry! And all of you b*****ds who are getting on, get on now, 'cos we're going down the tracks'.

The horrified mother went in and told her son, 'We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room and stay there for TWO HOURS.
When you come out, you may play with your train, but I want you to use nice language.'

Two hours later, the son came out of the bedroom and resumed playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say,
'All passengers who are disembarking the train, please remember to take all of your belongings with you.
We thank you for travelling with us today and hope your trip was a pleasant one.'

She hears the little boy continue,

'For those of you just boarding, we ask you to stow all of your hand luggage under your seat. Remember, there is no smoking on the train.
We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today.'

As the mother began to smile, the child added..........

'For those of you who are pi**ed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the fat controller in the kitchen.

by the time they had absorbed all that, Sludge was really slurring his words being funnier than the joke, Theyb all laughed rolled over and we n nt zzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzz

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 20, 2009 11:37 am

The night air was very cold but the snow that had just fallen was starting to melt away quickly.

Ben followed Axel Nut that evening out of the filling station. The old Pan Head rolled down the dark streets. Ben tried to keep a good distance back so he would not be detected.

Into the night the two went. It seemed to Ben that Axel Nut had discovered him following a couple of times but did not speed up or make any sodden elusive turns.

Axel Nut just rode around not noticing anything. The thought of the bad things Spike is going to do to him when he finds out of Vespa’s escape was very much on his mined. Spike is going to kill me…I just know it, he was thinking over and over as he rode around in the dark.

The small rundown beer bar that Alex Nut finally stopped and went into was on the north side of town. It was a dark street and the bar had a couple of neon light beer signs in the two front windows with an “OPEN” sign flashing above the front door. Ben thought that it looked an average beer bar except for the Christmas lights running along the roof line in front. A little too much he was thinking.

Ben quietly rolled over the front door and listened while Axel Nut received a loud and sever tongue lashing from Spike and then was taken out behind the bar to be beaten to one inch of losing his life by the other gang members. Ben quietly rolled around the back corner of the little bar and saw Axel Nut on his left side with two gang members standing over him kicking him with their tires. The old Harley Pan Head looked unconscious to Ben, he was not moving.

Just then a harsh voice came from behind Ben, SO WHAT THE HELL DO WE HAVE HERE! DO YOU WANT THE SAME! Just then Ben was grabbed and thrown to the ground and kicked several times. Ben went unconscious from the beating he received.

When Ben woke he was in a dark garage that smelled of rodents, stale beer and old used motor oil.

SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 20, 2009 1:31 pm

The next morning at the hotel the others waited for Ben to join them for morning coffee. Ben did not answer his room phone. They got the manager of the hotel and opened Ben’s room. It looked as if Ben was never there that night.

After a few minutes they decided to go to the local police station to see if there was any information to be found out about Ben’s disappearance.

As they were about to depart the hotel… MACK the truck came rolling into the parking lot. Front all splattered with bugs and breathing hard. I drove straight though to get here, he said. WHAT’S GOING ON?

The group told Mack about Ben disapering and that they were just leaving to go to the police station. Mack said, LET’S GO, I passed it on my way over here.

So they all followed behind Mack to the police station. As they arrived, there was Vespa standing out side talking to an older Indian Scout motorcycle.

K and Sludge raced over to Vespa and gave her a huge hug. She asked immediately asked, Where’s Ben? As she looked around at the small group and one big truck. Where is he, she asked again with a worried look on her face.

Sludge told her that Ben disappeared between the time they all said goodnight and this morning. Just plan vanished. Let’s try calling Ben’s Cell phone she said. I know he has it. He carries it with him all the time.

So the small group went inside the police station and called Ben’s cell phone. The person that answered was not Ben…it was Spike’s voice that answered the call and she hug up without saying a word and rolled out side. The others followed.

I KNOW WHERE HE IS!! She screamed. He’s in the gang’s garage where they held me prisoner. Get the police to follow us. Victor rolled back into the police station doors and yelled at the top of his voice, WE NEED YOU TO FOLLOW US RIGHT NOW, IT’S AN EMERGENCE!

The officer behind the desk just looked at him and said No yelling in the front office area. Victor rolled out of the two glass doors and looked at Mack and said, get their attention old buddy! Mack backed up to the doors and said “I’LL BE BACK” and smashed the front of the building in. That got their attention, Let’s GO!

With Vespa and Val in the lead of the group and entire police department bringing up the rear. They headed back to the gangs garage.

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 20, 2009 4:09 pm

So you followed us here did you? Spike said. That was a long way to come to be taken apart and sold. The other gang members laughed. Not only are we going to sell you but also the no good for nothing Pan Head next to you. Ben looked to his left and saw Axel Nut standing there with flat tires and all beaten up and shaking uncontrollably.

Just at that moment the cell phone he got off Ben rang. It must be for you, Spike said. Mined if I answer it for you? Spike answered the call with, YEA, WHAT DO YA WANT! He just looked at the phone when the other person hug-up. I guess they didn’t want to talk to you after all. The other gang members laughed again.

Alright settle down now, settle down, Spike spoke. We need to disassemble these bikes and stash the parts for later. So let’s get to it.

Just then there was a rumble in the ground and the garage started to shake.

Frenchy and Victor where coming through the side door and they were not going to Knock. Victor pulled all the torque he could muster and hit the door with both tires. The door shattered and knocked two of the gang members through the air and they entered.

Just about the same time Mack hit the big double door on the front of the garage knocking three gang members and Ben flying across the garage into the back wall.

Then Sludge came in with a chain and hit one of the outlaw Harley’s that was trying to get to Victor. Knocking the bike to the gravel floor.

Spike yelled, YOU ALL ARE DEAD BIKES, YOU HEAR ME! That was just the type of invitation that Frenchy needed for a good time. He leaped off the floor and hit Spike with booth tires. Spike flew back against the rear wall and went limp when he hit the floor. Frenchy rolled over the broken heap and leaned down and said “Monsieur you are mistaken!”

Vespa and Val found Ben over next to the back wall broken and bruised and helped to him up and rolled him out of the garage into the fresh air.

Vespa looked deep into Ben’s battered eye’s and said “Honey this nightmare is over”.

Just about that time every police vehicle in Anchorage, Alaska arrived with guns drawn.

PostSubject: Re: SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes   SCOOTERS- Time For Heroes I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 20, 2009 5:11 pm

Two weeks after the scooter napping ended. The Heroes, that’s what the local and national news papers called them, were aloud to go home. There were the parades and the keys to the city and the thanks from the local police and the FBI for bringing down Spikes gang. Crime in Anchorage, Alaska dropped to almost nothing.

Spike received life in prison for 2 counts of scooter napping and other charges.

Each member of his gang received 50 years each for their part in the crimes.

The garage was torn down and pine trees were planted where it once stood.

Mack’s insurance company payed for the repairs to the police building that was wracked.

Frenchy went back to Quebec Canada to live his peaceful life until he was needed again.

Victor went back to his filling station and somehow business sure picked up for him and one more thing he married Val.

Sludge and K went home, got new paint jobs to match and some new chrome parts here and there.

Ben escorted Vespa back to her little cozy garage and said goodnight and made sure she got into her garage before leaving.

Ben rode home and turned up his driveway, stopped half way and looked at the flowers Vespa planted along the edge of his drive on his last birthday, smiled, rolled into his garage turned around and said to himself, it's starting to feel like fall, and slowly closed his door.

The End.

I hope you all enjoyed the story.

This was a combination work of a lot of very talented, imaginative people. Kurt, Dan and Jeff all contributed to the story line. I think they all did a great job.

I sure am looking forward to seeing the illustrations.

Hi Gary,

By the time this epic tale ever comes out on any type of home entertainment media it will be on a solid memory chip modual that just plugs into a tiny slot on the front of a player box the size of a deck of cards or even smaller and also be in HD and 3D.

Dennis, your encyclopedic knowledge of the world of scooters and motorcycles has made the research for the illustrations fun but really tough...Did I draw a GTS 300 Super Scooter?
