| Happy New Year Wing Nuts ! I searched the prior posts about the Russell Day Long saddle, and really could not find any actual reviews. The last post was by Joncallihan, who received his new seat, but I did not see a review. Currently I have a sheepskin on the stock seat, and I have used Airhawk products with success, and had Corbin seats on several bikes. My interest is only in feedback from those who took the plunge on the Russell. I am considering a Russell, and spoke to the Kim at Russell. It's a heck of a lot of money, which is OK, I just would like to have some feedback from anyone who has one, before I pull out the wallet !
thanks to all, and spring around the corner here in the North East ! Marsman. |

| Since this is your first post here, how many miles have you put on your SW?
I have over 90,000 on my '03 SW and haven't seen the need to upgrade my saddle. That said, I do have a lambswool pad on mine and find it perfectly satisfactory; warm in the cold months and cool in the summer even after parked in the hot sun.
Welcome to the asylum. Do try not to annoy our resident curmudgeons.

| I had a full seat cover on an 04 Goldwing in 1 inch thick shearling wool. It was very comfortable although you aren't going to win any beauty contests with it. Im sure it is terrible in a rain. |

| I have the stock seat on my silverwing. I removed the butt rest to allow me to sit a little farther back on the seat. I'm happy with the stock seat on the silverwing. I"ve owned many motorcycles , some with the Russell seat, ones with corbin, Seatconcepts and various other independent seat mfgs. Of all the different seats I"ve owned the Russell Day long seat was hands down the most comfortable. I have no reason to think you would not be happy with the Russell. I'm sure someone has ordered a Russell and regretted it, but I have never met them or read anything they posted. Good luck |

| Glenn D, thank you, and I have many friends in Alabama.
To the others, I was not looking for opinion, or a question about the stock being acceptable or not acceptable. This is sometimes the good and bad about a forum, some chime in on a topic, whether they are answering the original question, in this case the Russell, to give their keyboard some exercise.
My question to the group was specific to those who have tried the Russell seat, and Glenn, you answered the question. Thank you, and happy new year, safe riding in 2015. |
