| Has anyone put a 175/70-13 Darkside on a Sliver wing? I have measured it 6 ways to Sunday and it should fit.

| yes the 175/70/13 tire will fit. I run a sumitono car tire and like it. Usually mentioning a car tire and motorcycle in the same sentence is like poking a hornets nest with a short stick, usually brings out lots of action |

| COOL and thank you for the quick answers! I just bought a 2003 600 w/ABS in Candy red and I love it! Just got rid of a Vespa which was nice as well. |

Yes, indeed it will fit. I currently have one on my 2006 Silverwing with ABS and test rode it around a bit (200 miles) to check out how it performs. But a 165/65R13 might be a better choice as it will be closer to the stock scooter tire diameter. That is the size I use most for my 2006 and it does not have a negative effect on the ABS system nor the speedometer/odometer. Not sure if the 175/70R13 will affect ABS, but it does under-report odometer mileage by a small percentage. However, the usually optimistic speedometer reads closer to speeds reported by my GPS. The wheel I had that tire mounted to did not have a pulser ring for the ABS system to use, so I can't be positive as to its effect on the ABS braking system. I plan on getting a pulser ring mounted and will do more testing in the spring to see what, if any effect the much taller 175/70R13 tire has on the ABS system. I actually like how the 175/70R 13 feels compared to the 165/65R13. The squared off shoulder car tire feel is less prevalent with the taller tire. Backing off from the throttle, it seems to coast along easier & longer too. BTW, there is a Darkside car tire section where this subject is discussed. I would encourage you to partake there where the oft controversial subject matter is accepted and less likely to cause heated arguments. |
