Hey from Arlington, Texas

Hello fellow sw enthusiasts!

I'm James from Arlington Texas. I have a 07 Silverwing (or is it Silver Wing?). I've had it for almost 2 years now. It only had 2400 miles on it when I bought it. It now has around 6900. I bought another bike about 6 months ago or it would have more miles already.

It looked like someone had let it fall when it wasn't moving. It had a cracked windshield and a couple of scuffs. The first thing I did was recover the seat and remove the driver's backrest so my wife could sit behind me. I added a Givi Monokey V46 top case. I re-painted it silver and added a Givi windshield.

When me and my wife ride very much, it starts building up dust down where the clutch and variator are housed. It starts making a weird noise when I take off. I was going to sell it because of this, but I decided to order Dr Pulley 24g sliders and a HID clutch. They are in the mail on the way to my house now. Hopefully this will solve that problem.

Last week I cut down the Givi windshield to 18.5 inches. I like it a lot better. My other bike doesn't have a windshield and I just realized that I don't like being behind one or the back-pressure it produces. I found a video on youtube on how to cut down the windshield and it wasn't difficult at all.

Today I replaced the fork springs with the progressive Hyperpro springs and 20w oil. I cannot believe how much better it handles. Why the heck didn't it come this way in the first place?

Anyway. I ride everyday. Would enjoy going for a ride with anyone else that might be here in DFW.

James welcome to the forum. It looks like you did a real nice paint job and the mirrors look like you've changed them too. Your other bike looks good too and I like the building in the background. I've got an 07 too but my other bike is also a Silverwing.

Yeah, that's just a hop, skip and a jump from here. My son lives off of Bowen and we are over there all the time for grandkids sporting events.

We are off to El Paso this weekend, but I'll holler at you when we get back. Again ... welcome!
