| Just got a 2003 silverwing, and in last 2 days, have put a little over 200 miles on it. Love it, first time on 2 wheels in 45 years.. |

| Farmer,
Congrats on your new SWing and welcome to the forum. The Swing is a really nice bike and will take you anywhere you want to go. Look around the forum for maintenance and modifications you may want to do. |

| Farmer welcome to the best Silverwing forum on the web. You have some nice country to ride in where you live. Is your Silverwing still stock? If it is before you spend money look through Accessories-Modifications and see what others have done. If you plan on doing your own maintenance you'll find you can do anything you need or want with the service manual and help from this forum. I add the paragraph below for most new members because there's a lot of information in the links and may save you some work. Here are some links(3 below in blue)that will help you learn a lot about your Silverwing. If you can't find what you need in the links below the search on this forum works good, and if you still need help just ask and someone will do what they can to answer your questions. | Welcome Farmer. Your story is pretty familiar on this site. Seems a lot of us took a long sabbatical from two wheels and the got back in.
We got a new neighbor about 7 years ago and he would come home from work and go for a ride on his motorcycle for an hour or so to unwind.
I told my wife that I missed those kinds of rides. She suggested that I check craigslist for a used bike and see if I still liked it. I did a little research and ended up buying my first Shadow. I really enjoyed being back on two wheels.
My wife got her motorcycle endorsement and we got her a Reflex 250 scooter. I found myself taking her scooter out more than the Shadow and eventually sold the Shadow and bought a Yamaha Majesty 400. We now have the Reflex and the Silverwing.
They aren't as flashy as motorcycles but they are more practical. |

| Welcome back farmer, nothing like a ride. A 40 mile ride is a mini vacation and except for safety gear you dont have to pack. Be careful out there the first 6 or 8 months. The cars will NOT look for you, have no expectations. I got off and back on after 16 years. I am very happy to revisit the hobby. Cheers |
