Hello!

I'm a brand new scooter owner (did my introduction post just now, following protocol chickendance) and I'm looking for help in finding a good mechanic to service my scoot.

The previous owner had a full service done at 14k miles, and I purchased it with about 20k this past Saturday meaning it's due for another round of routine maintenance.

Looking around online I'm seeing that essentially the #1 factor (besides not crashing) that helps increase the life and maintain the performance of a scooter is regular service by a qualified mechanic. That's not too easy to find with a basic online search, so I thought I'd check the pulse of my fellow scooter enthusiasts to see if anyone has advice.

Any thoughts? Both Honda dealerships in the area have scary bad Yelp reviews...

I normally post this along with my welcome in introduces but it applies to this question best.
If you are looking forward to learning and plan on doing your own maintenance you'll find you can do anything you need or want with the service manual and help from this forum.
I add the paragraph below for most new members because there's a lot of information in the links and may save you some work.
Here are some links(3 below in blue)that will help you learn a lot about your Silverwing. If you can't find what you need in the links below the search on this forum works good, and if you still need help just ask and someone will do what they can to answer your questions.

Hi model28a,

Thank you for the tip, I'm going to get a manual ordered this afternoon and your response is saved in my "favorites" for future reference. I'm not very mechanically experienced, but I'm stubborn enough to try my best!

For what level of service would you think a mechanic would be required? Nothing short of a rebuild?

Thanks again!
