I have just had a 24000k service and was advised that the belt was in good condition & does not need replacing, but I now have vibration when I take off all is blurry in the mirrors it settles when I have got to cruise speed and only happens when I accelarate also when at cruising speed I feel the engine making a sound like intermittent brrrrr.......brrrrr would the variator weights need replacing? or is their another part that needs to be checked for wear.

Belt slap? That's considered "normal", but it's curable by replacing the belt with a kevlar type.

Forgive me if this sounds like a challenge but don't all CVT belts have Kevlar in? My Honda-engined X9 250 had a Honda belt which had Kevlar in it. Methinks the after-market belts are advertised as containing Kevlar as a selling-point - nothing more, nothing less.

I suspect that most available belts do have Kevlar in them. Kevlar isn't terribly abrasion resistant but it is very stretch resistant which makes it good as a belt fabric.
