Nice article in The Classic Motorcycle, Nov 2015.

After 60 years attending motorcycle/scooter events.....this is one of three must attend, along with the Elephant Rally and Euro Vespa. Easy if you live in Europe or UK ...great European tour destination for Americans.

No Trailer Biker rally like Daytona or Sturgis. 26 0r 27km up mountain dirt road----I have ridden it with BMWR80RT=hard work/several MZ 250's=fine and easiest with Vespa 150, going slow and getting early start. Could SilverWing do it? Sure, maybe dragging bottom a few times. Expect snow/mud/dust/rocks---seen GoldWings go up and make it.

Just like Alaska bike trips,it takes 6 months to get all the mud/dirt off/out of your bike.

For me, I didn't camp---stayed each year in best hotel, reservations made in advance...made vacation of it....ate and drank well.

Bardonecchia, Italy is the town.

Thanks for the inspiration John.  Have you ever done the Vespa Tre Mari rally in southern Italy? It seemed to be an impressive and very well organized rally according to the article in Scootering magazine last year.

Or Scooter Week at the Isle of Man TT?

Tim

I have only been to Euro Vespa----Verona, Italy and Kaiselautern, Ger.

When living in Italy, I liked riding Military roads, WWI, I think on Vespa 50cc Ciao...it was light enough to manhandle/push over almost impassable non-maintained tracks. And slow enough to keep me from killing myself.
