| By the time o-HI-o gets back to decent riding weather I'll be 79 and looking forward to it.
Another year has passed And we're all a little older. Last summer felt hotter And winter seems much colder.
There was a time not long ago When life was quite a blast. Now I fully understand About 'Living in the Past'
We used to go to weddings, Football games and lunches.. Now we go to funeral homes And after-funeral brunches.
We used to have hangovers, From parties that were gay. Now we suffer body aches And wile the night away.
We used to go out dining, And couldn't get our fill. Now we ask for doggie bags, Come home and take a pill.
We used to often travel To places near and far. Now we get sore asses From riding in the car.
We used to go to nightclubs And drink a little booze. Now we stay home at night And watch the evening news.
That, my friend is how life is, And now my tale is told. So, enjoy each day and live it up... Before you're too damned old
Remember: Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

| I don't think age has any bearing on riding, it's only a number, I have a teashirt I bought recently that has written on it"Four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul" that has always been how I feel about riding. |

| Dang, I am a babe at 63!!!! Moved to Arizona to give me more time to RIDE! At some point I will get tired of lugging the 900 pound Goldwing and then will stick with the Silver Wing! Now I rotate the two big bikes to keep batteries charged etc. |

| I just turned 63. Given that I only started riding at 57, I'll have to be riding into the 100's to have as much experience as most of the forum brothers ( and sisters). I am looking forward to that. Jay. |

Very true, more so when a left turner nails you early on in your riding life, fortunately I survived, tore up but alive and still riding. |

| I am 79 and still love to ride my 2005 Silverwing. I intend to ride as long as I can. The first steed I had was an old Cushman which I rode all through my High School days. I have been riding since! |

| Considering that the vast majority of the membership are over 55 and the Silver Wing is considered a bit of an old git's maxi scooter, why wouldn't older members still be riding? It's reasons like failing physical strength or eyesight, health or medical problems, or lack of interest or enthusiasm that stops you riding.

Other reasons the youngers maybe put off, A. You can't see the big shiny engine one has poured $$$$$ into. B. It's WAY to quiet. C. more than likely as not the girlfriend doesn't want to ride on THAT |

I can't remember who said it, (in relation to my chosen sport of cycle racing), but I think it certainly applies to most, if not all of us, on here - "You don't stop because you get old, you get old because you stop!" |

| So if you say you've been riding 50 years and regularlly do this six month "riding season" thing, and the other six months your Silver Wing or whatever is under wraps, you really only have 25 years riding experience under your belt. That's still plenty of course. |

| Just like cotetoi, I've just turned 63 (a week ago) and only have 2 riding seasons under my belt. But had my first ride of 2016 on Wednesday. It had warmed up to 2°C and winter hasn't kicked in yet -- so, with having dry roads, a ride was called for. The day before was my first skiing day for 2016 ! It has been a good week. Mike |

| Art, I expect a few more tornadoes like you had there recently will age you faster than anything else. A neighbor was visiting Texas (about 15 miles) from Garland on that fateful night. She returned home last night and I expect to hear more of her experience. We don't get tornadoes (knock on wood) here. Hope you made it through the tornado with no damage. Enjoy your youth ... it doesn't last ... Mike |

Mike I recon you're right on the youth and tornados aging you quickly fortunately I'm in Garwood, not Garland, which is 280 miles away from me, no twisters here this year If I had a tornado here, i suspect I'd be without my home |
