| I'm getting ready to install the front / rear tire/rims. I notice when I took everything apart the front axle had what appeared to be White Lithium grease on it, looking closer at the front hub it appears there is just a normal grease product in that area, so is it important to cover the axle as it was originally?
The rear spline had a darker color grease, I planed to use Honda Moly on those on reassembly.
The muffler bolts will get a Never seize coating.

| I use wheel bearing grease on front axle
Same grease on rear splines.
Front grease I think might make axle removal easier
Rear spline---I know of no cases of spline failure on SilverWings---my experience with them, over 70,000 miles. I just clean up a bit, some new grease on each tire change. |

| I have also never heard of a rear axle failure in the spline area but a few wheel failures in the spline area from a lack of lubricate. Any wheel bearing grease should be ok. Howard |

| Thank you, I used the same grease I use on my spindle bearing for the axle and that littler grove that needs packed, Moly 60 on splines never size on muffler bolts. The OEM grease on the axle was not the same as the bearings, on closer looking a distinct color difference, texture. In any case back together and ready for the next step. |

| The splines should have Honda 60 or Loctite moly paste. Not moly grease as sold by auto parts stores but moly paste of 60% molybdenum or better. Honda shaft drive Goldwings had a lot of shaft spline wear problems until Honda began to call out moly paste on all splines. |

| Yes, OEM Moly 60 on spline, leftovers from the G'Wing days. |
