Hello! I've owned my 09 Silverwing for a few months and have had a blast touring around on it. I really do think it is a special piece of engineering.
I bought it because the weather here in Manitoba is really... continental? The weather varies a lot and the summers are short and I wanted something fuel injected that'll start in cool weather and has good wind protection, so I bought a Silverwing to get the most out of the riding season.
I was considering buying a dual sport or an adventure bike but I couldn't get past the cheap insurance on the Swing -- more than half the price. I can buy fuel all summer with the difference
So I've been trying to toughen up the look of the scoot but all I have so far is a pelican case bolted to the rack. I've ordered some Dr. Pulley sliders and can't wait to try those out before the snow flies.
Nice forum! Thanks for letting me join! I enjoy your collected expertise and sense of humour!
