| Subject: Stator cover grommet part numbers? Sun Dec 04, 2016 1:03 pm | |
| Hi, does anybody have the part numbers for the grommets in the stator cover that begin to leak? Have noticed a leak on mine and from the manual i think there are two wires but cannot find the part numbers on the microfiche.
any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks SF |

| Sorry to REPORT, but they are not available separately. At least not from Honda.Â
You'll just have to come to terms will removing the stator cover, cleaning up the mating surfaces & grommets, then resealing the cover and grommets with Hondabond or Yamahabond sealant. Don't waste your time using anything but the good stuff. DAMHIK

| DennisB did a recent post on 'Fixing a Leaky Stator Cover', and I did a 3 part "Bad Stator" post which outlines most of the steps required to remove/replace the stator cover. Use the Search function to locate those posts. |

| Your right....It was not that long ago and I still remember that the wire seal grommet(s) were a molded part the the stator wires and can't be replaced by themselves. You would need to replace the complete stator assembly to get a new grommet.
Clean the old grommet(s) and the cover pass through area(s) really well and seal it with a good helping of Hondabound HT when reassembling.
When I say 'grommet(s)'...I mean there are two grommet pass through areas that need to be cleaned and sealed in this repair.
Good Luck.
P.S. Use the correct sealer. Like most people, I don't like to do the same job twice because of a mistake like using the wrong sealer. |
