| Cycle Gear has the Givi AF214 windshield for $227.70 and the Givi recommended D214 mounting kit/brace for $14.40, so will most likely use him. On viewing the mounting instructions, it looks like the windshield goes on first and then the kit goes on last. Is that the correct sequence or do I have that backwards? |

| Givi recommended the D214 kit to add additional strength and stability to the windshield. Looking through the site some agree it needs it, others say it is another expense and more work that is not needed. I would prefer to ere on the safe side and have the extra bracket my self. The cost is minimal and the additional work is not that tedious. But I will pose that question here also. Those that have the AF214, is the D214 kit needed or is the windshield fine without it? I spend a good bit of my time on the freeway commuting at 70-75 about 30 miles each way all week. |

| Mine came with all hardware. Brackets, bolts. You just need to drill 2 holes in plastic to install . GIVI instructions POOR. Rec. you add brackets added strength to windshield. Search this site or Utube Its easy, hardest part is removing panel to install. If i remember the brackets go under the windshield. |

| Yea, noted that you had to be gentle/careful taking it off so as not to break the tabs. Gently wiggling it off. |

| That kit may come with the AF214 windscreen. IIFC the kit gets mounted first --otherwise there wouldn't be space to remount the windshield garnish. You should use the kit, it helps reduce torsional stress on the windscreen and may well reduce the possibility of the upper screen flying off at freeway speed.

| How often has that occurred and what can you do to prevent that from happening? |

Bought mine from REVZILLA came with everything. no kit needed.
Upper part has 2 cam adjusters to hold shield. Bolts need to be tightened as needed. |

| Stupid question from the newbie: What's the advantage of the GIVI windshield? My head is 100% above the top of the stock shield? Is the GIVI shield that much taller? |

| The aerodynamics are superior; extra 'height' is achieved by the shape of the two-part screen 'shooting' the draft over the rider's head. Someone else may give a better, technical description but that's the gist.
