Got home last Nite from 3 day trip to FL/SC/GA from my Chattanooga TN base.
Road surfaces bad on major highways, country roads ok, Atlanta is terrible...place to avoid, spent 3 hours getting thru yesterday....no lane splitting in that miserable place! America wake up!!
Pain---I don't know if it is the feet forward riding position, sitting on wallet----horrible wind buffeting, have Givi Adjustable shield--Winds from the recent storms in SE US? I trued 2 different face shields....of course ear plugs. OK this AM.
Rain several times. Waterproof Wolverine boots did their job. The south is too hot and humid for Aerostich jacket and pants to be really comfortable---but they do not leak, but even with venting open not comfortable for me.
Gas mileage---high of 65 mpg on back roads in FL, Freeway, going fast---52mpg.
The older I get, the more the top heavy SilverWing=too much work to ride----U turns country roads with steep camber. TMAX was much better balanced, Helix, even with small top box did not have so much weight behind rear axle.
ABS light came on yesterday morning and stayed----read owner manual=? will attack today....after nap...with shop manual.
Concluding: after over 70,000 miles 2 new SilverWings, I find it not fun for high speed long distance riding....bring speeds down to 55 mph or so=ok. Feet forward hard on body! Reg motorcycle (not cruiser) better in this aspect.
Admin: I see no instructions where to put this so let it be read...but at least I am out riding
