| hi all , happy easter
i have just rebuilt the front end of scoot had to replace top cage / fairing support plugged all the electrics back in and now the pump does not prime starter is dead lights ok horn etc ok 2 days ago i was trying various things / tests and i left the ignition switched on while i was working on another bike and low and behold i heard the pump prime , and i pulled the brake and it started straight away, did this 5-6 times no problem today i carried on sorting the abs pump but when i again tried to start nothing again, very frustrating its like i have the side stand down any help ideas will be much appreciated |

| You could bypass the side stand switch -temporarily. |

| Try cleaning side stand switch with a spray cleaner. It needs to be plastic and rubber safe though. Many brake clean products are not good cause other issues. Or bypass that's the best way to solve know for sure. |

| well guys i am an idiot after much head scratching i realized i put the tilt switch on upside down!!!!! what a dope i am my only excuse is i am a new silverwinger and repairing the smashed to pieces scoot that youngest son (god bless him) borrowed after his ktm died really happy and another days work should see me back on the road best wishes to all bikers |

| bike is all together again and runs and looks great had to lend it to errant son again for his commute as he punctured the back wheel of the cagiva elefant i had lent him i am off work tomorrow so i will fix the puncture and at get my silverwing back!!!!! as a side issue , i took my wife to dinner in soho london 2 weeks ago (great town scoot) on my aprilia sportcity 300 and some bastard stole it !! so be extra careful , chain the scoots up as bike theft is becoming an epidemic at least in the south east of england best wishes to all you silverwingers

| my aprilia sportcity 300 and some bastard stole it !! ----- did they hot wire it or just snatch it up and load it into onto something? Any security cameras in the area that could be checked? bummer. |

| just don,t know , parked in a motorcycle bay ( we now pay £1 ), same one i have parked in for more than 35 years , there were at least another 20 bikes /scooters there as well , put the steering lock on and it had the factory imobiliser (chip in key) fitted and it just vanished , police show no great interest just said they see 100 bikes stolen in the west end of london every week but they will check the traffic cameras , heard nothing more from them though , think i will invest in a cheap tracker , and take a big chain from now on, |

| 100 bikes stolen in the west end of london every week,
SWA ing here more than likely in a shipping container headed for where ever. 100 a WEEK and they are not interested? |

| new directive for the police low priority any thefts just concentrating on violent crime knife /guns government budget cuts and downsizing of the force oh well , the insurance co. have paid me all i can do is hope the bastards have a unpleasant life best wishes to all silverwingers |
