| There is one for sale in the Seattle Craigslist ads today.
I have not, but I did have a side car hack and I won't have another. Personal preference only. |

| don't do it.....I speak as veteran of 40 years sidecar use---SilverWing not designed to pull sidecar and the forces put on the frame/wheels---how do you reduce gearing 20%? Steering damper?.Change fork trail? I enjoyed my HD factory tin sidecar outfit===strong but engine could not take really hard running---best were MZ 2 strokes, 300cc conversion, Koni shock on sidecar---bike and chair designed for each other. So nothing broke. AND they were cheap, about $1000 in the crate for outfit! And for the car tire nuts, you could safely run car tire on rear---special 15 inch car rim, inner tube with off set valve, tire from Citroen 2CV----not legal solo.
Many sidecar outfits I have seen in US---probably could not pass any safety/stress testing and what bikes today are designed for sidecar? Ural might be the only one left.

| I spotted that one myself nighthawk. The paintjob alone must have cost a packet, and it looks like the rider forgot how wide it was judging by the crunched mudguard on the chair. It looks nice but as noted by John I can't imagine it rides too well. |

| Interesting feature in that the forks and wheel have been reversed. Any idea why? |

| I have not got a problem with anyone putting a side car or a trailer on a Silver Wing. I actually love the concept and have seen many fine examples. But I know that in Australia you would lose your insurance cover, if you have an accident, because the manufacturer specifically states ( in the owners manual ), that the SW is not designed and suited for it. Obviously that does not deter many owners, but it would worry me ! |

Could be handy to take the dogs with me. Early model Silver Wings like that one got bad press from journos and owners alike for it's poor fuel economy, so lugging that lump of a sidecar around is only going to make it a lot worse. I'd always be suspicious of sidecar outfits for sale where the owners main priority had been an expensive and garish custom paint job. Fitting a set of leading link forks and a suitable square section front tyre would have been IMHO a better use of that money, and vastly improved the handling and road holding (and saleability) of the outfit. |

| Perhaps they just take it to Custom Bike shows on a trailer; that might account for the low mileage. |

| I saw the ultimate in side car use today probably qualify as THE use. There he was at a local gas station with his bike and side car filling gas cans carefully arranged in the side car, hopefully for a short uneventful ride home. Me? that risk taking would NOT happen. |
