| Honda in Oz is flogging off all inclusive with tax and rego the DN01 at $AUS10990, with a demo at one dealer at $9990. Not bad from a $19300 retail. I can see some of you reaching for the airlines telephone numbers now! |

| Hmmm that's not a lot cheaper than the UK (http://www.doble.co.uk/theBikes/newBikeDetails.asp?bikeRefNo=1325) and our currency is only slightly better than peanuts these days.
This article seems to suggest why: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/General-news/2009/October/oct1509-honda-dn-01-price-slashed/ Note some of the comments after the article |

Kurt, Honda Oz is also selling off SilverWings in the same way. I got mine from a dealer in Canberra for AUD9,990 ride away. While its only AUD1,000 less than the DN-01 I still think the Wing is a much more useful bike. I actually went up to Canberra to look at a Honda SW-T400 or a Yamaha Majesty. The Wing was only AUD500 dearer than those two - no comparison I thought. Regards, Peter |

The reduction of price is a world phenomena to shift then out of the showrooms and onto the road. I heard a rumour that Honda have stopped the build programme. A concept bike too far ahead to reach realistic sales targets. Sad, it was/is a good machine. |

| The DN-01 is a nice machine. It is certainly innovative in many respects and it certainly does have an appeal within a small group of circles. But at the end of the day, when you consider the cost of the DN-01 versus the cost of other bikes, it has priced itself out of the market. You can get some nice bikes including sport tourers & adventure tourers fully dressed with top & side cases for that price. Now the Aprilia Mana 850 is a little more realistic and I hear that the GT version with the half fairing is coming stateside next year. |

Kurt, Have you noticed the noise with the fairing. I traded a Honda Hornet 900 (naked bike) for my SWing and the noise off the top of the screen is really noticeable. Research on this and the UK forum seems to recommend either a taller screen or a Laminar Lip. I think I will go for the second option. With the value of our dollar at present its probably cheaper to buy the Lip direct from the States. Are you a member of Ulysses over there? Regards, Peter |

| Not too long ago my wife and I were at the local Honda shop and as I am a very faithful customer they told me we could drive the DN-01 away from the shop for a mere $11,000 USD. I was tempted, but may have to go back in a bit and find out if the price is still dropping.
The leg room is not quite enough for my 33 inch inseam, but my wife fits it just fine. |

Kurt, Alas, no! Its just a bit far for me to ride. Several of our Branch (Eurobodalla) are going. I've only been a member for two years and have yet to attend an AGM. Maybe Newcastle ext year. Some mates thought Penrith was not very good. Regards, Peter |

You could always counter-offer with a price you would be happy with ... and wait them out. |
